Great job! Really cool! Be careful with the big box stores doing the cuts. Measure before you buy it. I've had a uneven cut and didn't realize until I got home. Best to do your own cuts if possible.

Excellent tutorial. Your video is exactly what I was looking for on how to make this project using one piece of wood. Not everyone has all the tools and all the expertise on using all of those woodworking tools. Great job. I also like how you sprayed the back of the union to hold it together so you can paint the stars white. No one else has shown this. I also like how you explained to clean it off with mineral spirits. Great job

Great work again Max. I love this. The only thing I would worry about using the plywood is that it will warp over time. Especially if it is in a garage or anywhere it is going to experience heat and then cold as the climate changes. I wonder if finishing the sides and back with sealant clearcoat would help.

How do you not get stain to not bleed over into the other colors? Is it just sanding it better? Putting a poly on between colors?

That's a random orbit sander not an orbital sander.. the 2 are very different machines.. 1 1/2" wide tape would make a lot more sense. to align your star template, tape it down one edge before the spray glue, then use the tape as a hinge, turn it over, add the spray glue and flip it back for perfect alignment. Another way is to paint the stars BEFORE the blue, then wipe the blue stain on and it won't stick to the white paint.. You also need to add stiffeners to the back,, that plywood will warp real bad..
