i have 2 degrees in engineering and by virtue I've already learnt a lot of what you cover, but I always watch every episode as I love your teaching style and friendly nature. That being said I have learnt a great deal from your tips and tricks episodes and have used a lot of them in my daily life at work. Sincerely wish I had you as a lecturer in my early years, you have a natural gift.

Thank you. You've answered a question regarding the Lottery that has been on my mind for a long time i.e. when a ball of a certain colour is removed from the total, does it reduce the probability of a ball from that same colour group being selected. So, for example, if all the balls from one to twenty are blue, once a blue ball is selected there is less chance of a ball between one and twenty being selected. I've always maintained that it does, but others have argued against that view claiming the chance of selection of any number remains random no matter what colour is removed.

Why is it not 5/8*4/7 in the first example of Pr(RR). From how I understand it the probability of pulling out 1 red ball is 5/8 but then when you go back to get 1 more ball out there are now only 4 red balls in the bag and 3 blue ones making the chance of a red ball being pulled out 3/7? Can someone please explain. Edit: well I am stupid, I just realized what "replacement" meant lol

Not stupid, just mistaken. That 'with replacement' can be tricky if you're not careful!

@@tecmath no its made by a tiny minority, imposing a view that they don't understand and are determined to make sure anyone else can't either. problems (not issues) are only solutions(not impacts) in disguise. your either part of the problem or part of the solution. with your infantile reply, I repeat LOOK IN THE Mirror. you ARE the problem
