Wendy you are INSPIRING! This project made me cry for some reason. It is so beautiful and I really appreciated Story Time. As a female who was raised by a single mom and as a single woman living alone, I totally related to your feelings about being home without "male protection." Thanks to your post, I am now interested in the world of crafting! Blessings to you and Happy New Year!

Love your ambidextrous rare talent. You could really help children with their fine motor development as many parents have to work and don’t have time. The reservations need people like you and we need the people on the reservations.... they have fantastic cultural traditions. Thanks for your sharing. Wishing you much beauty.💫

Your story of your hubby being gone was inspirational. I believe you are correct, you do get used to having that person around. I was a single mom for 9 years with 4 children and I learned to be very self sufficient.

As a Native American, I so truly appreciate what your husband did and appreciate what you have done to keep your family going during this time. I have never lived on a reservation but do know about these conditions for so many. Our son learned a new appreciation and admiration for linemen when due to circumstances of his job, he was on Galveston Island during Hurricane Harvey. Again, thank you and Che so much. Great card, good color choices. Just became a subscriber.

Wendy, I’m 69 and have never mowed. Someone has always been around to mow our grass. My brother and sister fought over who would get to mow when I was growing up. Then my husband mowed the yard when I was married. Now, my son and daughter-in-law makes sure the grass is mowed. I’m amazed that there are homes in the United States without power. It’s wonderful that your husband is involved in this project. I really love all of these quad-fold and tri-fold cards! Thanks a bunch for all you do!

Beautiful project, and touching story!! Good for your husband and his achievements and also for what YOU are accomplishing, along with him. My son is 38 and an apprentice, climbing cell towers, so I very much related to what you were saying. This is the first video of yours that I've come across, and I'm really glad I did.

Love the story. A fund raiser for the Navajo would be a great thing. You never know how much a person does for you until they are not there. Fortunately, your hubby is home. I lost my husband after only 5 years of marriage and I never realized how much he did until he was gone. Hope you and your hubby have many, many more years together.

There was a really neat article in our Sunday paper today about the effort to bring electricity to homes in the Navajo nation. It’s an Associated Press article and I could bring it up online when I did a google search on “Navajo electricity “. Kudos to the both of you for supporting this effort. When there is so much need in our country for basic services that we can take for granted, how good to hear what you had to say.

Thanks for sharing. I know what its likes not to have power for 6 months, because of the hurricane in Puerto Rico. Lots of men came from the states to install lines for electricity. Great jobs these men are doing. Love your card I will definitely do one. God bless.

I understand what you are saying about women being able to take care of ourselves. I think more women need to become more familiar with weapons. I was 35 years old when I joined the military (Army) and everyone I was in Basic Training with were 18 years old and they all thought that I was with CID (Criminal Investigative Division) and that I was undercover. It was sooo funny!!!! Oh the card was great. 👍👍👍 Take Care. ~Barbara

Hello Wendy, thanks for this idea and thanks for sharing this story with us. I always love to hear about your life. I am from overseas and it is hard to believe, that some people in the US, in the year 2019, still without power. The Navajo area is a heaven's place on earth and I was fortunate to travel there several times. What a great experience for your husband. Bless you and your family!! You are a sweetheart. There is so much love in your heart, you make this world a better place. Please get this fundraiser started, it will snowboard, these poor people are waiting and praying for help but have nothing to connect to the world. What a terribly sad story. Please let us all send card to the government, they make so much tax money off the casinos, surely that money can be returned for them. You get it started, please, we’ll support and spread the links.

Great card and I enjoyed the story about your husband. I didn't understand what his job is called, I am German. I have been married for 19 years and I am appreciating my hubby more and more because I have bad knees and can hardly walk. He is self employed and works long hours but he now has to buy groceries and help me in the home. I still work fulltime but I work 4 days from home. I know exactly what you mean in your message! Oh, and when we did our road trip through reservation country couple of years ago we were shocked at what a bad hand native Americans had been dealt in terms of reservation property and support. I knew some facts but guess I hadn't gotten a grip on the whole extent of what they actually deal with until seeing the desolation in person. Even though I think, honestly and without pointing fingers, as an educated European I might have had more info on the matter than 90% of Americans. It's sad.

this card is awesomely cool. I can see tons of applications.. I get the hubby gone. I was a military wife. My Hubby after 20 years of active duty, with what is called TDY's. Just to get out to a job that he travels even more often as a network architect. His job takes him out for about one week out of every month, these next few months more like a twice a month creating an entirely new set up for the client. I am so glad he does not install things anymore.. they are even more on the road...

Well done to you and Wendy on your humungous effort to help end human trafficking! Also well done to your wonderful hubby - 'Chi' - for his 'bus man's holiday' / job in connecting power to the Navaho (sp?) Reservation in Arizona. The 'Appreciation Dinner sounded amazing ~ would have loved to have been there! I hope - no - I expect that you've made him his favourite dinner & desert / cake - enjoy having him home again! 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder' and all that! Congratulations on getting to your late 30's before having to mow your lawn - I think I was 10 when I first handled a mower! I love these trifold cards/mini albums ~ they make great wedding invitations too! ;) I'm luvin' the 'Mosaic Mood' Specialty Designer Series Paper - lots! Mosaicking is a favourite craft of mine! In the Summer though - because it's definitely an outside craft/hobby/art! Tfs ~ C ~

Great story of independence, appreciation and understanding of separation in a relationship. Having grown up in a fishing community parental separation is not a new thing. As we like to say, that's life just muddle through it and everything will be alright. Dad gave up going to sea when my older sister was born. And he had land jobs after that. I swore I would never marry a fisherman,, I married a fisherman! He would be gone seventeen to twenty-one days at a time. And like you things had to be done. I just did them, no thought just did them. Sometimes people forget what they are capable of doing. There are no gender roles here. You are faced with a task and it is best to try your best. Hugs to you and hubby. And I love that you talk with us while you craft. We can follow with our eyes as well with our ears. This is your thing. God love ya, and that is why I stay subscribed.

I mean to me it doesn't matter. What matters is that you do what you love and go for it. Thank you for making it it known you have a gun. Now the bad guys will definitely not be stopping by your house. They'll say to each other, "Oh no! This is the lady that has a gun. Let's try that one over there." LOL! Yep..alot of women live alone and do all things. My dad passed away and my mom relied on him so much that she can't do anything. I'm impressed with women and men who do all things. Please...take my advice and learn how to do all things. This stuff is hard to learn and do when BAM you are 75 yrs old and your husband is gone. Plus you don't want to have to pay someone to do every little thing. You either gotta be rich to pay people or do it yourself. Seriously. ..think about that stuff and start learning how to DIY. Best wishes and Great Future Luck!
