The Original Venetian Spritz is a classic serve that is synonymous with the City of Masks. The essential ingredient is Select-a bittersweet Italian Aperitivo with over a hundred years of history, made from a secret recipe of 30 aromatics-mixed with dry Prosecco and a splash of soda, the combination creates a refreshing and light summer cocktail.
This drink is effortless to make and its low ABV content makes it a great serve for sipping on a summer afternoon. Pair your venetian spritz with a bowl of olives and some fresh bread and drink it outside for the full experience.
INGREDIENTS:
🥂 50ml Select Aperitivo
🍾 75ml Prosecco
🥤 Soda water
🫒 Olive for Garnish
EQUIPMENT:
-Jigger/Measure
-Bar Spoon
-Cocktail Pick
-Cubed Ice
METHOD:
1) Using your jigger to measure, add 50ml of Select and 75ml of Prosecco to a wine glass
2) Fill with cubed ice
3) Top with a splash of soda
4) Stir lightly and add more ice if needed
5) Garnish with an olive on a pick
6) Serve and enjoy!

The Venetian Spritz is synonymous with its core ingredient, as is its history; Select Aperitivo was created by brothers Vittorio and Mario Pilla in 1920. Eager to get in on the post war regeneration of Venice, the brothers founded Fratelli Pilla & C, and set their focus on producing liquors. Their flagship product, Select, was designed to be versatile-delicious on its own, refreshing with a splash of soda, or a distinct botanical modifier when mixed into a cocktail. Many native Venetians will insist on Select for an authentic Venetian Spritz and it should always be served with an olive.
