2 things i wanna say. first off great video. 1. Don't use concrete for this kind of project. Clay is ok but concrete has lime which is toxic to humans. 2. That isn't the same water from the start of the video, you used already clear water. The system you made looks good and would've cleared that water with time.

In fact it removes dirt, salt, iron content if any and oil impurities also. Water taste will be changed completely.. The hardness will be converted to soft water.. You will get a mineral water equivalent.. But only problem is, it needs to be serviced once every three or four months.. Especially the sand should be taken out and rinsed throughly... You can construct even with Sintex tank also... Any hard or dirty water could be changed to mineral water quality... But periodic servicing is a must.

Nice to use a digital ppm pen to show the ppm of the water before and the ppm after filtered so people can get a visual proof that this works. For example before filtration water ppms was maybe 170ppm parts per million of solids and after filtration would probably be 4 ppms. I would simply suggest crushing the charcoal it increases the surface area making it more effective. Also there is a huge difference in activated charcoal and just regular charcoal that comes straight out of the fire, regular charcoal is no were near as effective as activated charcoal in regards for filtration of water, smells etc...
@georgexabo59492 жыл бұрын
Oooh you know about activated charcoal, well hell yes, it’s heated to 1600 degrees and it creates pockets that increase its ability to absorb, right on
@jeepsblackpowderandlights43052 жыл бұрын
Charcoal or activated carbon does not remove TDS.. nore do sediment filters or even KDA filters.. you need RO or Ro DI resins to lower tds
@absolute___zero2 жыл бұрын
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 I don't know why you guys mess with these inefficient technologies. Purification by distillation has been practicing in Egypt (and other areas of Africa) to get 100% pure water without any headaches of filtering. If you need to drink it, use distillation, if you need to flush the toilet , use slow sand filter.

@@EasyCraftsBD No, it will not remove salt! To remove salt, you would need a high pressure RO system. This is a VERY basic filter & would work great to clean Rain Water... I live in the Philippines too & Know for a FACT that this would not be good enough to filter even deep well water... But it is a nice filter for rain water. There are plenty of videos you can watch to help you build a better filter for cleaner water.

A little deceptive. First you take dirty water from the pipe on the right, then you filter clean water from the pipe on the left hand side. Why don't you just connect the filter to the first pipe on the right that has brown water? I mean what is the point of showing us dirty water from one pipe, and then filtering water from a different and clean water source?

the real deception was the fact that he had a cup of extremely dirty water, with sediment , that he tried to hide by the way he held the cup, unfortunately for the keen eyed you can clearly see that he simply diluted the initial "control sample" to show just how effective his basic contraption is.

@@malcolmstover9162 The initial water coming out will always be dirty, you let the system filter after a few goes. This is standard with any newly built water filtration system, even the gravity fed system you buy from like Berky/ Berkefield, you need to do an initial flush (up to several times) for it to become clean. However, if you intend to filter river water you need to purify it by boiling the filtered water, this will kill any germs.

Thank you for watching videos or please share to support further development channels Yes, that's right .. Just combining the red brick pieces, good quality coal, coarse sand and fine sand will give clear water ... In fact, it removes dirt, salt, iron content and even oil impurities. The taste of water will completely change .. Hardness will be converted to soft water ..

May I know why can't the water from the tap directly drip to the sands filter area?
@EasyCraftsBD4 жыл бұрын
because water is not guaranteed to filter sand and charcoal
@fincavirril2 жыл бұрын
I also think the first area is useless

@@EasyCraftsBD I still don't get it. Is it because of the flow rate will be slower therefore better filtration?

Yes it is very much true.. Just a combination of red brick pieces, good quality charcoal, coarse sand and nice sand gives a crystal clear water... In fact it removes dirt, salt, iron content if any and oil impurities also. Water taste will be changed completely.. The hardness will be converted to soft water
