This video will show you how to make a water rocket.
This video was specifically made for our Cub Scout Pack, but we encourage everyone to try these out! We have received feedback from around the world from people that have used this video to make their water rocket, many claiming they won their competition or received an A on their physics project... congrats!
If you are attending our event, we have the rocket launchers, you don't need to make one!
If you want to know how to make a launcher, here are some videos that we used to make our launchers:
OPTION 1: • Water Rocket Launcher ...
Option 2:
PART 1: • Make your own water bo...
PART 2: • Make your own water bo...

May I know what is the purpose of adding the weight (golf ball). If I do not add weight, does it mean that my rocket can fly higher-ups? Thank you.
@greghancock7
@greghancock7 3 жыл бұрын
The pressure from the water gets the rocket moving, but without weight, there is not a lot of mass to keep it moving forward. The golf ball or tennis ball adds weight and actually helps propel the rocket forward thus going higher and/or further.

hi! I saw some videos without the ball inside (without weight), which one is better? with or wothout weight?
@greghancock7
@greghancock7 3 жыл бұрын
Here is why the weight is important... all the water will be released due to pressure, the weight of the ball in the rocket propels the rocket forward and moving straight with the weight in the front. Imagine wadding up a tissue or a sheet of paper and throwing each of them, which one will go further? The paper will due to more mass.

What does the weight in the nose cone do?
@greghancock7
@greghancock7 5 жыл бұрын
The pressure and water are used to propel the rocket... once the pressure pushes out the water, the weight of the rocket keeps the rocket in motion, without weight in the nose cone, the rocket will slow down or begin to spin out of control.

@greghancock7
@greghancock7 5 жыл бұрын
Charde Loving - I’ve never needed a parachute, sorry I can’t offer a good solution. You can try putting it in a loose nosecone, the problem I foresee is that the weight in the front will keep the nose of the rocket moving forward, I don’t think there is a point where the nosecone would be able to come off due to forward momentum.

Hundred of thousands of views, a long list of virtually all positive comments, and proven success. Yet for you it’s no help? Then either you aren’t making a water rocket, or you are unable to follow simple directions that have been successfully used over and over by people as young as elementary school. I think we know who the clown is. Good luck finding what you need.
