Tommy, great videos. I've been using my Vitamix since the first of the year to create healthy green smoothies following your recipes and creating some of my own through trial and error. I've already lost 13.8 lbs, but need to lose MUCH more. I thought I'd feel weak and lethargic, but I feel great. I've recently started to re-introduce whole foods to my diet but I'm avoiding potatoes, breads, and pastas for now. Your recipes will certainly help to keep me on track. Thanks!

Thanks Adam! Apple seeds are very good for you and also contain Vitamin B17- a cancer preventing vitamin. They do contain traces of cyanide however, you would have to eat about over 50 apple cores in one sitting for it to be toxic- a little bit won't hurt you and your body can easily detoxify the trace ammounts.

Just got my Vitamix 5200 today and followed this recipe exactly as my first blend. I started it on 10 High as Tommy instructed. However I am now reading in the manual that you should never start it on 10 high. Did I cause damage to my new Vitamix in anyway. It did struggle for a while to get going. I had to really put some muscle behind the stick and start and stop it to get it going.
@RawBlendAustralia
@RawBlendAustralia 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Karl, we recommend not starting on HIGH speed just in case your lid isn't on properly. You can image what happens if you don't have your lid on properly and whacked it onto HIGH speed. If you do go straight to high make sure you are holding onto your container as it can jump. Did you follow this recipe exactly? It shouldn't take too much muscle at all when blending. Please let us know if you're needing any further help with processing or feel free to give Vitamix a call. Happy Blending!

Hi Tommy! So I made this smoothie this morning, everything was ripe besides the pear so I left the pear out... and I think I added close to 2 tbsp of chia seeds instead of 1. What I noticed was it had a very thick consistency. Is this normal? Or maybe I added too many chia seeds ?? Either way the flavour was really good :)

I ve changed my diet, but still not sure what vegies and fruits are really helping? I don t think to much fiber is good for me, my metabolisim is very fast it s just it does not absorb food very well? What foods should I look for?? Thank you

Hey Ado: I have a sensitive stomach too & i found out that ginger & baking soda (it is NOT the same as baking powder) helps me if i have bad stomach. I do not know if it will help your condition this is just my personal experience. My stomach cannot tolerate garlic (due to fructans), carbonated beverages (it makes me bloat) like beer & soda, too much coffee, alcohol, spicy food, tomatoes (in large quantities) & fast food. There are some common triggers (that you can find on the internet) for digestive disorders, but I do not know your condition & i am not a doctor or food specialist. There are some common digestive disorders that you can look up: - Acid reflux disease - Stomach ulcer - Gluten intolerance - GERD disease I didn't visit a doctor, but I avoid consuming large quantities of my food triggers. I also found out that poor sleep is the worst trigger for my stomach. I hope it helps.

The toxicity of apple seeds that convert to hydrogen cyanide is based on mg/lbs of body weight. A 200lbs man would not feel the effects without a lot of apples, but a infant or baby would definitely. Be smart and do not grind or include apple or pear seeds. Take a minute and remove them.
@macuser5555
@macuser5555 11 жыл бұрын
Actually all he has in the smoothie is apple and some grapes, roughly 20% fruit. The rest is all green leaf veggies. You won't get much of an insulin spike from that. It would be better if it was 100% green leaf or other veggies but people do need some fruit in their diet. Besides it's tough to drink a veggie smoothie the first few times. You need something sweet to offset the awful flavor.

Referring more so to refined sugars and added sugars. Apples certainly have sugars that naturally occur in the fruit. Better than all the juices and smoothies out there with nasty additives! So frustrating when places label things as healthy and then you read the ingredients and can hardly pronounce anything off the list! Cheers :)
