How to make a wooden swing with your own hands in one day
Hello guys, you are on the Warcraft channel and today we will make such a wooden swing with our own hands in just one day, whoever is interested, watch this video to the end, I will show you everything and tell you. So, for the base of the swing, we need 4 bars 10 by 10 cm, plus or minus 2 and a half meters long. We measure and cut the bars with a circular saw, then cut the missing centimeters with a hacksaw. We plan the tree from all sides with a planer. Let's move on to the most interesting. We put the timber on top of each other, measuring the distance between them at 140 cm and from the improvised floor to the future cross member 2 meters. I mark with a pencil the places where the cuts need to be made, measure the thickness of the beam, divide it in half and set the saw blade to this depth, make cuts every 5-10 mm, then use a hatchet to chip off and remove everything superfluous with a chisel and a hammer. We do the second bar in the same way. We drive a beam into a beam. With a pen for 30 we drill a recess for the washers of the bolts, with a drill for 10 I make a hole for the bolts. We raise our structure and squeeze the bolts and tighten everything with keys. Now we make spacers, we make them from a board 5 by 10 cm 160 cm long, try on in place, measure the same distance from the floor, mark the places of cuts and prepare these same spacers, after which I fix them on the legs with wood screws 100 mm long. Next, from the bottom and then from the top, we apply some straight object in order to mark the lines of the saw, about 10 degrees and saw off. Here are the designs we got. Now we are preparing a supporting beam 10 by 10 cm 2 meters long, on which the swing will be attached. We try on the rack and mark the cut points. We cut off the opening with a simple hacksaw, since you can’t get there with an electric tool. Well, the details are ready and you can try on how everything looks. Now we turn to the manufacture of a spacer, which will be attached from below between the uprights and will add durability to our swing. We will make it from a board 10 by 5 cm 2 meters long, like our load-bearing beam. We are testing the structure for durability. Additionally, from the same board 5 by 10 cm I make corner struts that will be attached between the base and the supporting beam. I cut boards 25 cm long and end on both sides at 45 degrees, and on one side I cut a triangle in the center with a saw for 45 degrees to make it look better after attaching it to the supporting beam. I fix them with 10 cm self-tapping screws in this way. I retreat 20 cm on each side on the bar, thus the distance between the chains will be 150 cm. I drill, install bolts, and carabiners on them. After that, I polish all the flaws. We install the swing in its rightful place. Well, the swing frame is ready and you can start making the bench. To do this, I took a couple of bars 45 by 45 mm. We mark 50 cm, we need 4 such bars, and two of 60 cm each. We cut off and fasten them together with bolts with nuts and tires for 10, I personally fastened them on the studs that I had left from the last project. The corner of the bench picked up by eye. After I assembled the bases of the bench, I sanded a little and it's time to fix the bench boards. I took five boards 15 cm wide, 3 cm thick. I cut them 150 cm long and screwed them up with self-tapping screws, and I also fastened all the boards together with a bar from the bottom in the middle for better strength. The result is very personal.
