Magnificent. I have done something similar but with only LM 350K. It can handle just over 3 amps. With a 24 volt transformer the output voltage is 1.2V up to 30 volt DC. Built in 1980 and still holding.

@edgarmendez4398 Жыл бұрын
Gracias 🙏

The transformer is 12-0-12 Volt 3Amp. You are using it as 0-24 Volt 1.5 Amp . How it will give you 3 Amp current ? secondly the the meter is powered by out put of the circuit which is wrong. because if your voltage go below 4 volt(As it is a Variable Voltage Supply) the meter will go off because it needs 4 -30 volt Dc to operate. So it should be power on through the DC generated by transformer and the yellow sense wire should be connected to output voltage of the circuit.

Hello Your totos are well presented and nice. But having made feeds with thypons (printed circuits) for high schools with high school teachers (between 1998 and 2011) I would have a suggestion on security: the food should be secure, either in a wooden box as you show not PVC but closed, to avoid electric shock. cordially Patrick France

270 ohm resistör warmed burned
@vincentrobinette15074 жыл бұрын
may I suggest, connecting the 270Ω resistor to the output end of the parallelled 1.5Ω resistor instead of the output of the LM317? That would compensate for the voltage drop in the emitter follower resistors, keeping the output stable from no-load, to full load. (leave the capacitor connected as is, for stability) The LM317 works by making sure the reference voltage between the adj and output remains exactly the same. If voltage drop appears across the 2N5532 and the resistors connected to the emitter, it will automatically compensate. That makes it a true regulated supply. You should not see any change on the volt meter, when connecting a light bulb or motor. Connecting a couple of diodes in series with a low resistance between the output of the large resistors and the BASE of the 2N3055 will limit the current that the transistor can conduct, in case of a short circuit. Make the value low enough, that the current limit built into the LM317 can protect itself, as well as the power transistor.
@kchandrakant504 жыл бұрын
Your logic is absolutely correct but not seen this change in any circuit related to LM 317 & Power transistor in respect of any Power supply circuit I came across.

What's the point of the two 1.5 ohm resistors? As you can see the voltage drops from 13.3V to 12V. That is not a regulator, it is a simple emitter follower. In order for this to be a regulator you need a feedback to the output of the LM317. That's why it doesn't work properly.

That 270 ohm resistor would better get connected directly at the output, and this way you have a more stable voltage when you put a load on it.

Cordiales salutations.
@robertneill3057 Жыл бұрын
Drop the input voltage further otherwise the excess voltage will need to be dissappated as heat. A transformer of about 9v would be ideal for a standalone 7805 regulator. The old Flight 68k boards for the Atari ST computer used a 9v transformer wall wart psu. The voltage can be dropped either by a switched mode pre regulator or by cascading higher voltage 78 series regulators one after another if they can be obtained. Suggest using 7818 and the 7810 which may not be available locally other than on-line retailers.
