HOW TO MAKE AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT: Proof of funds in Canada study permit

Sharing you my personal AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT and LETTER OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT when I applied for CANADA STUDY PERMIT. I also discussed about PROOF OF FUNDS (POF) for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS including family application.
There are a lot of documents to comply in applying for STUDENT VISA in Canada. One of the most important documents is the proof of funds including the letter or affidavit of support if someone is sponsoring you.
There are 2 types of application for Canada Study Permit, REGULAR STREAM and STUDENT DIRECT STREAM (SDS) and the letter of financial support is usually for Regular Stream Application.
I provided samples of my documents which are EXPLANATION OF FUNDING SUPPORT and FINANCIAL SUPPORT. I explained what are the important details that should be in the document.

So, if I got this straight, I will need to write 3 letters to support my application: the explanation letter, Proof of Funds, and Affidavit (if my parents will support me too). Also, if all the supporting documents like bank statements and certificates are in another language that is not english (Spanish in my case) I should have them notarized and translated to add them to my application?

Thanks for the information in this super nice video dear.. Please what's the difference between proof of chance and ties to your country. Because to my knowledge i think proof of funds means you can be able to foot your bills whiles there and ties to your country means something you have that guarantees you will come back. But in videos you will see people saying ties to your country can be a significant amount of money in your bank account so I get confuse if that is for ties then what's for proof of funds. Hope to receive an answer soon. Thanks very much.

Hi Jayson! Thanks for the very informative video! I was just wondering, cause my parents are going to be the ones sponsoring my studies in Canada but they wanted to transfer it to my bank account instead of just letting it stay in theirs. Will that be okay? Can we just explain in the letter that my parents had transferred the necessary funds needed to pay for my expenses in Canada? And then just attach their ITRs/DTI, their bank certificates as well as mine? Hope you'll reply. Thanks!

lady carreon thank you for watching and for your comment. The 2 documents that I showed in the videos are letters and they were not notarized as I provided during my application of SP. Thus, only the supporting docs were notarized.

By the way, if you will be applying as international student, they can come with you and not as a visitor’s visa. Your spouse will be given an Open Work Permit and your children can study in Canada for free with 18 yrs old and below.

Hi, for student direct stream is it really required to submit a bank statement of at least four months if you are bringing your family? My mom was a teacher for a very long time (30+ plus year) but now is retired and her saving is enough for Proof of fund. Do I still need to submit an Employment Verification in that case? Hello! A family friend will be supporting me but they are not comfortable with providing me their Bank statements and bank certificate. They will however give me an Employment Certificate and they will pay for my 1 year worth of tuition and give funds for the GIC. Is that enough?

A friend cannot be qualified to sponsor you except he/she is a family member based in Canada. Family member are your parents or your spouse. Your brother,sister,cousin,friend,uncle,aunt cannot sponsor you to canada.

@@inakshikumareshan If you are doing a Regular Stream, you don't need GIC. You just need to make sure that you have complied the POF including the TF. GIC is with regard to SDS.

Brother Jayson Good day. Would just like to ask if the affidavit of support needs to be notarized in the country wherein our sponsor resides? Because in our case, our sponsor is currently and temporarily residing in the middle east although they are also pure Filipinos. In addition, all of the supporting documents on their proof of funds will be coming primarily from the middle east (COE, ITR, Bank savings, etc.). Just asking because notarization in the middle east is very costly compared here in the Philippines. This is just what we need to clarify as of the moment before we proceed in our GCKEY application. Hi Jason thanks for the video really informative 🙂 I'm just confused regarding for Letter of Support needs to be notarized. Is this mandatory when applying study permit? My auntie who is in CA will sponsor my accommodation. She will provide her financial docs as well. I hope you can shed some light. Thanks po🙂

Hello, was the letter from your father notorized? Is it necessery to provide the passport from your sponsor? I am confused, my father will sponsor my studies!

Thanks for watching and for the comment. My father’s letter of support was notarized. My father provided the copy of his passport as proof of identification.

Hi Jayson and thank you for your efforts I appreciate it alot. I have a question like if I was planning to have a two year program do I have to prove that I have the money for the whole period like the tuition fee plus the 10k dollars or just for one year cuz I'm confused

Thanks for watching and for the comment. As per IRCC, you POF should be $10K plus 1 yr TF. I remembered my agency before told me to provide at least Php 700K for my 2 yr program. But note that the bigger the better.

Hi Sir Jayson, Is it okay too if the Mom of my Fiancé' will be the one to sponsor? thing is we haven't met yet as she is working out of the country. Do we also need to submit pictures or anything that can proved our relationship for the Affidavit of support?

jayson may i ask, regarding RNIP video of yours.. sorry i have to cross message here. what if the NLC but the campus is in St. John and not Nelson? will that be eligible for the RNIP?
