You should also state that the settings depend on how good your monitor is at reproducing colors. Most gaming monitors or TV’s are too bright and have bad color accuracy. Before doing that you should calibrate your display first!

@@Ben_LaBroca I get a huge fps drop when I use the nvidia filters with iracing on my triple 1440p setup. Did you find you got a fps drop using the filter on AMS2?

@@richdudecamaro I was going to say similar. I have tried NVidia filters before in AMS2, and like you get in iRacing, I got quite a hit to my fps in AMS2.

Glad you mentioned night racing. The biggest tweaks for me with AMS2 came with increasing shadows and contrast. Also helps with the kind of bizarre looking headlight reflections on the cars ahead.

I find that ams 2 is already much sharper than a lot of racing game for example acc which looks fuzzy in appearance which isn't acceptable in games today, many racing games from a decade ago seem much easier to look at than modern games especially those with the same engine as acc.

Even though I have enabled this for in game it when I try this is it doesn’t give me the amount of options, I had the same issue with iracing

Odd, I have the latest version of the nvidia driver and the alt F3 doesn't do anything. Then again I always bypass the Experience app. Anyone knows if this app is necessary in order to get these additional overlay settings?

@@Ben_LaBroca Just installed the latest driver for my card and added Experience. It then became obvious why I never tried this app in the past: it requires you to create an account and log in to Nvidia for this to work. No thanks.

I don't run it buddy but I believe it won't apply to VR. You might need to look into Reshade, but I'm very much a VR noob so worth a search on the Reiza forums!

I've just tried this. I hit Alt plus F3 and it says the game doesn't support this.

I thought vrtoolkit gave you reshade in VR, as of a few months ago. Haven't tried it myself. Might do that now, actually...

@@Ben_LaBrocaThat’s a shame was hoping for a simple fix. I think it’s possible using OpenXR for VR but I am on Quest 2 and would have to use Virtual Desktop which I struggle with due to a poor router.

the problem is with every new nvidia driver all settings are gone. Also it hits performance significant

I would have to agree with you here. Quite significant performance drop indeed. Unless you have a 4090 or similar.😁

An Oled will fix allot of those darkness issues as the blacks are true blacks but these tips are a good workaround nevertheless.

I have always disliked the appearance of trees in AMS2. They certainly look improved after your tweaks.

Seems very much to be a minority opinion - I'm in that minority group. To "cartoony" I'd add "artificial/plastic", it's something I haven't been able to rectify with any self-made or downloaded Reshade preset. The examples shown in this video aren't the solution either IMO, the desaturated colours (new settings) are anything but realistic and blooming up the picture (subtle settings) also doesn't do it for me.

Because calibrating colours to be true to life across any and all monitors is an uphill battle due to the amount of different display panels technologies, build quality and a whole bunch of other variables that makes 2 different monitors look different on the same image. With a neutral colour tone it's basically left to the users to tweak the display to their liking.
