What a neat project! I carry a little emergency med kit with me everywhere. That would make a neat one. Just the basics. Some bandaids, tylonol, things like that.

just something funny for you. I have a friend who(, when we were younger ) had an old black cast iron Singer sewing machine. she called me up saying that the thread on the bottom was all bunched up. I told her the tension needed to be adjusted. I said dont do anything I'd be right over. A half hour later I got to her house and said where'd the machine? Her boyfriend smiled and pointed to the window. I looked out the second floor window and saw the machine all in pieces on the ground. I asked her why did she throw it out the window. She said that it ticked her off ( she said a word that starts with a P) I had to laugh, we all say we're gonna do it but we never do

What a pretty and very practical craft. I've carried a little sewing kit in my purse since I was a teenager (in the early 70s). My grandmother gave me a well-stocked, hand-sewn kit for my 'Hope Chest' when I turned 13. I just put it in my purse instead. Thanks, Kandye. I am definitely going to make 'Housewife Kits' for Christmas stocking stuffers this year!

I think I'll make her one of these to send to her. Maybe a bigger one to store her quilting squares for a quilt. That would be fun. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope you are doing well. God bless! I would love to make this. question? when these were made in colonel days did they put buttons on the pockets to close them, so things didn't fall out of the pockets? From your tutorial I wrote the directions out, but I will add battling in between for stability and I am thinking buttons on pockets or velcro, to hold in sewing notions in, as that is what I will use mine for. thank you so much for this tutorial

The one I used is 6 years old, but go to www.history.org, that is the website for Colonial Williamsburg.I think you can purchase a subscription from there.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus he loves you and I do too. I also love this craft. I always try to carry a sewing kit with me. It’s come in very handy. Either for repairs on garments, replacing a button on my husband’s shirt. Using the needle to get a sliver out of my hand or someone else’s. So many different ways! Thank you so much for sharing this. My machine and I have a love/hate relationship, lol. Tension is my enemy. And just for good measure. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus he loves you and I do too! ❤️🤗🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
