I built this and it was simple and worked well.

A recently retired, new woodworker here. Made 12 nice, fairly large cutting boards for immediate family members for Christmas presents this year. I was pretty happy with their looks, but not 100% sure of my routing skills to tackle juice grooves. After watching this video a couple of times, I thought I'd give it a try. I am SO GLAD I did! Great jig, great instructions and great results! Thank you! So glad I found your channel, keep up the great work! BTW, last year, I made the toy box you posted on KZfaq for my 2 year old grandson's christmas! Came out great!

After watching about 30 different videos, to see which router plane I wanted to build, I stopped after seeing this one. It can be my sled rails, to plane tge boards flat, as well. VERY nice, creation, sir!!!

I made this jig today and the results were amazing! I have been avoiding trying to implement a juice groove into my boards for some time due to lack of high end tools (using a ryobi palm router) and comfort level to attempt it, but I decided to go for it any way and definitely worth it! Thanks for the easy set up!!

Beautiful! First try with this and it was epic! Thank you so much. I will add that after making the jig (in about an hour) I was momentarily bummed when I realized my router handles got in the way, forcing me to either cut down the sides of the jig, or "sadly" in my case, having to go get a new palm router! :D did have to change my jig after the change in radius from router guides, but man... worked like a charm. Thanks for such a concise, useful video!

Thanks...refinishing a two butcher blocks for customer and they requested juice grooves in one of them. I'll be making this jig, but with one change. I would recommend , especially for newbies or when using a full size router, to raise the base that is attached to the fence to be the same height as the cutting board. This would prevent any dipping of the router into the open space between fence and cutting board. Let me know what you think?

Been watching videos for a while on juice grooves. Yours is definitely the easiest. I tried it this past weekend on some scrap wood but the groove did not come out straight. I then figured out i went the wrong way with the router. I think this may take a few practice tries before i try it on the real cutting board. Practice makes prefect I guess.

Thanks for sharing this! I made my first cutting boards today and used this method for the juice grooves. I just used a 3/8” roundnose but and it worked perfectly!
