I want a cheap and easy-to-make transmitter so I can make all sorts of projects remote controlled. I then took the not so easy path by designing my own from scratch. But here it is, and I love it. It also ended up looking quite cool - which is a big bonus.
In this video I'll show you how to assemble the hardware and wire all the electronic components. In the next video I'll be doing a lot of programming to make it do all sorts of cool things. So stay tuned for that.
Enjoy!

Something I did on a project was to "extend" the LED light through the case by using a piece of clear 1.75mm crystal clear PETG 3D printing filament as a "light pipe" to bring the light up to the front of the case. In the design I created a small tube that extended from the front to just above the LED on the Arduino LED. The hole in the tube was about 1.75mm, and I cleared it out with a drill bit to ensure a tight fit. With the case assembled, I cut the end of a piece of the clear PETG to a clean end with a razor blade, then inserted it into the hole down to make contact with the LED. A little CA glue secured the PETG in place, and I cleaved off the filament flush with the front of the case with that razor blade. It work extremely well. The LED light is highly visible, and no soldering required to extend it, and no modification to the Arduino. Nice project. Well presented. I'm looking forward to the next video in the series.

Cool project! Was the choice of battery because of space constraints? A PP3 battery doesn't contain a lot of energy (approx. 400 mAh) and not much is left when you have thrown away 45% of it in the voltage regulator. What's the actual runtime of the unit?

In de video description you state plans to make a new video with the coding. Are these plans still there and is there a way we can help you publishing it?
