In this video I'll show you the most basic way to make a junk journal. I'm going to use this for Junk Journal July.
Junk Journal July is a free month-long challenge hosted by @megjournals, in collaboration with ‪@GetMessyArt‬, to inspire you to create in your art journal. Kickstart your creativity, join a supportive community and show up to your junk journal (or try out something new!) You can use the prompts with other types of journaling too.
How to get involved!
Follow the daily prompt list and create along each day using #JunkJournalJuly2024 - or pick and choose the prompts that take your fancy. There are no rules.

I really like this journal. I'm still kinda new and become overwhelmed with thinking journals need to be complicated. This shows me a simple way and I love how it turned out! Thank you for sharing. ❤

You are so welcome, glad it was helpful. When I first started making journals they were complicated things, felt that was what I needed to do. Have realised over time that simple is best as the norm and a complicated one should be a special event. Also, to embrace imperfection when it happens, like a wonky spine or crooked pages, they all make these little journals unique. We put too much pressure on ourselves don't we? Hugs & cheers.

I love the simplicity of this. This is what junk journals are to me. I HATE to measure and try to get it perfect. That takes all of the fun out of it for me.

Oh yes, totally concur. Somebody once commented that I was careless and sloppy in my journal making methods, was completely floored by that. The whole concept of junk journalism, in my opinion, is having the freedom to create without the constraints of making a perfect product. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hugs & cheers.

Staples! This video broke down another barrier for me. Because there’s a limit to how much you can ask a glue stick to do.

This is doable! I’m collecting bits and pieces to make my first journal and JJJ seems like the perfect time to muster up my courage. It’s going to be a French and lace journal. Hi Leigh - we are traveling around the south of France and I am watching KZfaq here and there…. It’s raining raining but last night I saw you make the red one… very beautiful and loved watching you make it, not sure where it is now but wanted to tell you. And HA you are making journals!!!! Great. Spent a bunch of euros in a fab art supply shop I was in - it was a small town and they had this huge shop - GREAT!!!

@@leighcreates ahhh you don’t need a lottery … all the supplies are pretty much the same everywhere. There is just a lot of them. Slowly slowly with Amazon and you will have what you want and need. I was surprised that it was such a big shop and it had everything I have seen on KZfaq - all the complies and all the products… there was nothing really new but ALLLL OF IT TOGETHER. Yum!

Yes! I have been watching so many tutorials and became overwhelmed. This video was so informative and helpful. It was so easy to follow and very easy. No measurements or templates made it feel more doable.
