Spike. I like the videos dude, I'd like to see how you care for them, I found a few Isopods in my backyard inside a decomposing tree stump and figured i'd try and farm them for my carnivorous plants, cus they'd be full of nitrogen, but I'd love to know how to make sure they're the healthiest I can get them.

You should try to feed your isopods tortoise poop😂 it works great for me!!

a lot of folk have success feeding them sections of uncooked potato.You can sprinkle some dried yeast on the potato if you want to be super fussy.

You know I love your isopods vids. Funny but as your video was playing, I got a delivery of Powder Blue and Giant Orange isopods. I'd love to see you set up more master cultures. You have the dwarf white, too, right?

They are mostly all good, but make sure you bake anything from the wild.

@@TheRigger92r Bake em at a high enough temperature to kill things. I would say 450 until the leaves are completely dry. If they get a little charred, that is fine, charcoal never hurts microfauna and can only help.

@@rawegg8880 Same problem here, can't find anything in my country which is recommended in vids :( not only that, our quarantine restrictions are so strict, we can't import anything.

Spike; think they would like rabbit poop ? Everything else seems to love it . I use it as fertilizer for my garden instead of chemicals and stuff . And my garden always looks like I use miracle grow lol . May sound gross but i was thinking of mixing in a few pellets as fertilizer for my vivarium.

Spike. I'm expecting a dwarf white culture from Jungle Jewel Exotics to arrive any day now. Will there be a harvestable quantity in this culture to set up a new 18"x18" vivarium with enough reserved to continue the culture? Or should I maybe dump the whole thing in, and order another culture to grow? How many dwarf whites should I be throwing into my new vivarium?

Dump the whole thing in, from what I have seen they don't include many isopods in their cultures, only like 10-20.

Yeah, it was more of a nematode culture with a few isopods in it. I spent a couple hours picking through it, and removing all the isopods so I could start with fresh substrate. Now I've got some mold growing in there, and I'm wondering if there would be any problem introducing springtails to it. Any thoughts on that?

They mostly hide in it, but overtime they do end up breaking it down.

so if it took you 6-8 months for them to bloom then I guess my local ones only taking 4 months was really quick then eh? 140 to probably 2000 in 5 months wasn't bad... too bad they didn't buy them from me and I just put them out around the lemon tree to hopefully help it out. BTW I won't do the word thing again, just know even if I don't watch it to the end, I mute and leave it on so you get the full watched on your analytics.. I know how that works thanks to my other channel :P
