I followed the instructions very slowly, step by step, sometimes repeating those steps 3 or 4 times, and when I got to the end, it looked like a penguin on steroids. It doesn't look quite right among my lotus flowers.

It's hard because him and his instructions suck. He moves too fast later on during the complex folds, doesn't clearly show what he's doing, combines multiple folds into one without keeping the viewer in mind. It doesn't need to be this hard.

yes its hard to follow but just make the video on 0.25 speed thats what i did and i was able to do it but it was really hard XD so yeah search for easier videos i dont like either to analyse for so long

The origami swan is a symbol of everlasting love because swans mate for life. Also, if you have one-sided paper and you fold with the print on the outside after the first fold of this process, you get mostly a white swan. The print will be on only the tail. Otherwise, if you fold it with the print on the inside after the first fold, everything except the tail will be colored with the print.

Great video, thanks. It would be helpful to know which side of the origami paper you should start with facing up, in case you are using coloured paper only on one side. After a general Google, I started with the white side up. In this case, that was wrong. So, start with the white side down for this one. EDIT: I should mention that it doesn't completely work, as some of the white part sticks out at the end.

Don't thank somebody whose instructions suck and were confusing. It didn't need to be this difficult and confusing. A truly good teacher takes their time. Holds things up so you can see what they're doing, each and every step. Does NOT combine two and three folds into one. And does NOT block things with their fingers. I see too many nicey-nice people in these comments who majorly struggled with this but blame themselves and thank and bow down to this guy anyway.

Clear, easy to follow directions! It helps if you slow down the video to 0.25 speed if you have trouble following some of the steps.

Yup. This dude moves way too fast with the more complex folds towards the end. That's my major complaint. Slowing it down to .25 speed shouldn't be the answer. He needs to just take that extra 3-4 seconds towards the end with the more complex folding and consider his audience.

You shouldn't support something that isn't able to properly teach you. There are major issues with this vid - namely, he moves way too fast with the more complex folds, sometimes combining multiple folds together too quickly so the viewer doesn't realize what he just did. And he's not always showing things from the best angles, aimed more towards the camera. And sometimes his fingers are blocking things. The problem isn't you, it's this vid. I was able to make the design happen, but not without some struggle, and that was due to the poor methodology of the instructions. I posted my constructive criticism feedback and gave it a thumbs down. He needs to do better.

If he did a better job by slowing things down a little with the more complex folds it wouldn't be too hard. People want to be positive and give compliments and blame themselves for not being able to copy what he's doing. But the fault is with him for not slowing things down a notch with each fold towards the end.

Really hard to follow some parts of the foldings. I was not able to complete this because I don't understand your folding movements. It will be more clear if you try showing the foldings from different angels. Take care.
