It really doesn't get much better than catching a fish using a lure you built yourself. Also you never know when you'll stumble on that magic color combination that no one else has and it drives the fish crazy. There's no need to spend a ton of money on offshore lures when you can make your own this easily.

Nah, unfortunately, 30lb is the standard. I've tried heavier but it's too thick and doesn't grab the hair as well. 30lb is the best as far as I can tell. Let me know if you have tried heavier and it works for you.

@@evolutionlures I use 70 and it’s ok, maybe not as good for hair. I have some 30lb…somewhere;) What is the total weight of the hair you put on the different heads? I put some on a big eye and it wouldn’t swim right, probably too much hair :(

@@adammcgeorge3538 for a lure like the bigeye I wouldn't use more than 10 grams of hair total. The double collar foot style isn't as suitable for hair. I make a hair version foot as well but it's only custom order for now. Also it helps to add a small egg weight to the bigeye.
