In this video you will find the complete tutorial for making a Coptic binding notebook.
In the first part we will build the cover of our notebook together while, in the second part, you will find the procedure for coptic binding.
The inside of the notebook consists of 8 files of 3 sheets each.

👀 coptic binding consists of stitching the fascicles and cover with a chain stitch, resulting in a simple and aesthetically pleasing sight binding. This type of binding has very distant origins, it was used by the Christian communities of Egypt, the Copts; with the passage of time, many variations and adaptations to modern materials have arisen, the binding I propose in this video being an example.
This consideration, should be made for all creative projects inspired by cartonnage and bookbinding, the different ways of making them, which, you will find under the same name, have arisen to meet the needs of adapting these ancient techniques to new materials and creative projects.

You will need:
2 mm cardboard
0.5 mm cardboard (in my case I used the back of a blocknotes)
180-gram A3 paper
patterned paper
binder's cloth or fabric of your choice
binding wire
