Walkalong glider is actually nothing but a nomal glider soaing in what we call as "Ridge Lift" It is a super fun and super awesome activity. Very educational. Great job @Mad About Science for teaching this to your students. I too have a ceativity mentoing class where I teach this .... and of course many other topics. Some points / answers to questions asked below ... 1. the Flat suface just pushes the air up . 2. use any flat suface ... light enough for you to handle it and stiff enough so that it stays in shape 😎 (i.e. Foam Sheets work best) 3. The area of the flat suface should push enough airr up to "fly" the plane ... you could fly just with the Palm of your hands !!! 3. Any glider will do ... the only thing one must consider is HOW MUCH PLACE YOU HAVE and HOW FAST CAN YOU RUN 😜😜 ... i.e. Wing Loading Wishing you guys have great fun with Mad About Science . Cheers

We have to hold cardboard sheet slanting as in the video, otherwise it will not fly
