This literally changed everything for me. I've been struggling so much in the creative process trying to make chords and melodies that actually sound cohesive. Thank you so much!

How do you choose the chords that sound good together in a progression
@lukafi6 жыл бұрын
J.A.V just lay down a chord and then keep playing around until you find a chord that fits the melody in your head.. and you have to know what type of progression you want.. example would be the melody your thinking of starts low then pretty high etc. You have to know what you want to write
@prodbyMEANDI5 жыл бұрын
@@JAv2305 You have to know the chord sequence of the particular scale that you are playing in.

Game not gonna lie, I was suspicious at first.. Your videos came up as recommended on my KZfaq feed about a year ago and I thought to myself, "how can this random guy on KZfaq with only 500k subscribers teach me better than all these other music colleges I wanted to go to.." Literally after watching two of your videos I knew instantly what I thought was wrong. You're changing my life to this day and I want to thank you for that.

Game I must say Bro.....Producers accross the world are maybe rejoicing right now because of the info you Put out.....wicked fresh bro I must say......these chord codes are soo essential. but one suggestion i would like to see is a Video on the Circle of 5th and how to build a progression via the Circle of Fifths. Once again thanks bro

Wow! After much frustration and repetition I kinda understand how to use traditional music theory. Your system eliminates the prerequisite of scale knowledge as it applies to chord structure. A big time saver and simply brilliant!

Man... this has been the best instructional/tutorial keyboard video I’ve seen on KZfaq. I’ve downloaded that Secret chord code book and I’ve made the smoothest jazzy neo-key tune in less than an hour using strings and a nice sounding Fender Bass and topped it off with a muted sax with a touch of reverb. So nice.... thanks again.

Literally every video you upload is extremely helpful. I just recently started to watch your videos, but I've already learned so much from you. Now, I actually know what I'm doing when I write melodies, and I used to just do what sounded good to me. You're so good at explaining the hows and why's of things regarding melody writing, or just FL in general. Thanks for all the videos man, keep 'em coming!

I think the steps between the notes are easier to remember as a pattern: Minor: x-3-4 Minor 7th: x-3-4-3 Dimished: x-3-3 Major: x-4-3 Major 7th: x-4-3-4 Augmented: x-4-4 etc.

I love your videos. I majored in theory and compo. Now I teach private lessons. Back in the day when I was in university I learned this system and used it but my professors advised against it for not good reason AND punished me for it. Of course this is what I teach my students because it cuts teaching chord structural building by 2/3. Plus it applies everywhere in every key. SO AWESOME! Thanks man for sharing
