Exactly why I did it. Every iPhone alarm makes me wake up in a panic and I want something that wakes me up more smoothly. I know I did the Drive Forever song but it was just an example lol

the garage band step has slightly changed. When increasing bars, my song just loops instead of lengthens. I resolved this by keeping it 8 bars and changing it to automatic, then dragging the edge of the song back and forth over the right corner of the screen. I had to remove my phone case to get it right, because it is finnicy.
