@KJSully92
@KJSully92 2 жыл бұрын
@@unitedwestanddividedwefall2073 Did you buy the tank, filter or heater second hand? Could have had snail eggs on them maybe. Or substrate can sometimes have snail eggs. If you have no plants or fish in there just dump a bunch of aquarium salt in there and that will kill them. Or you can just squash them.

I'm quarantining my plants the slow way, at 86°F for 5-7 days. I welcome snails because the tank is for puffers, but I'm concerned with ich, velvet, etc. I am currently on day 5 with 86-88°, and am lowering the tank to around 82° to accommodate the fish. It has been 5 days at 86 and the first two days at 75° I plan on a water change tomorrow in preparation of adding fish. Will tomorrow be a safe time to introduce, or should I wait a few days longer?

I don't think using Salt with plants is a safe option specially with delicate and rare plants. Salt dehydrates healthy leaves and roots causing undue melting and rotting, at times the plant may even die.

Let alone the force he used to shove the plants into the bowl you can hear a lot of them breaking. I would always go one by one rather than just shove them all into a bowl or tub (I get soaking them all together but than you have some that are soaking longer than others while you clean one possibly causing more harm than good)
