The swirling is called scumbling and it is a blending technique used to hide lines in brush strokes. This is particular useful for painting with a square brush.

I did the EXACT same thing with my temple of Anubis diorama a few weeks ago... coated the entire thing in black mod podge only to then paint every square inch of that beast light tan. Half way through I was like hmmm, I probably could have just used tan mod podge... Anyways, another great video as usual!

I am still amazed how in each of your videos you start the build, and my reaction is "How the heck is this going to work?" then by the time you're done I'm blown away with how great they look and how intricate the details can be. Thank you for the mini lesson on alcohol and glue in this video. It never occurred to me before why you do it, but explaining it now it makes complete sense. Great job!

To be fair things get remade with some regularity--you really only see the pieces that are done properly/properly enough.

@@NorthoftheBorder Ah, a true artist. I do the same thing myself with digital art, delete entire layers because they didn't work as I expected, and never let anyone know they existed. It may still look terrible at the end, but they will never know how bad it could have been. :P

A good tip to save leftover static grass, when you’re vacuuming it, but a clean sock over the end of the vacuum cleaner to collect and reuse the extra grass 😊

I love how before all the detail goes on, the bare project literally just looks like a 5 year glued some foam together in random places. Real professional stuff over here. (Just to be clear, I couldn't even get that far, so it's still impressive, and then becomes even more impressive with the actual detail)
