Today I create a bonsai from a christmas tree straigt out of a nursery.
I create a bonsai out of something that could have become a Christmas tree :)
But it would have dried up and been thrown away.
Bonsai styling from a nursery white spruce.
I want to show you how to make a bonsai out of a nursery tree. More precisely a spruce.
Canadian spruce - white spruce. A coniferous bonsai is slightly easier to form and maintain than a pine bonsai for example.
Or Picea glauca conica after its scientific name.
I will prune, repot and wire the tree to transform it into a spruce bonsai.

Why on Earth have I never found this video before? I have the exact twin of that Spruce and been struggling with it for some time. Your video has given me loads of inspiration to do something with it now. Thank you for sharing.

Great video, I'm chompin' at the bit wanting to re-start my Bonsai hobby. There are no trees in the stores yet and I feel like camping out at the nursery parking lot like we did when we wanted great concert seats in the 70's! Great job, you have created a piece of living art!

Multam. In primul rand Ra Bonsai isi schimba formatul si trece si pe engleza. Dezinteresul masiv si lipsa totala de suport din ultima vreme din Romania ma facut sa iau aceasta decizie. Doi la mana, dupa toate operatiunile suferite de acest molid, nu ma voi atinge sub nici o forma de el anul acesta, poate nici anul viitor - in functie de cum se comporta. Bineinteles ca la 3 zile dupa clip, l-am dat afara unde trebuie sa stea. In al treilea rand, este de vanzare si nu cred ca voi apuca sa mai lucrez personal pe el.

Arata foarte bine, un trunchi destul de gros. L-ai cumparat din penipiera sau magazin ca dedeman?

Aici o sa imi rezerv dreptul la un pic de intimitate. E un copac de pepiniera.

How old is this plant now? I see you remove a lot of roots. I remove about 33% and try to take out as much soil from the root ball. I’m wondering if you are successful removing more??

This plant was just purchased from a nursery before this clip. No ideea how old it is. The tree is fine.

I would be scared to do prune roots branches and wire in the same time.

Although this video is a demo, the tree is fine. It has been sold in the meantime but it's doing great. It's not the best cultivar but it shows that you can do a decent job even with poor material.

Salut. Nu pot. A fost vandut anul trecut cu 500 de roni. Daca vrei, pot sa iti fac unul. Caut in pepiniera ceva material. As recomanda totusi ceva mai mic.
