Make gorgeous geode bubble bath brittle with sparkling layers. Pink & gold are a sophisticated color combination. The bright, sparkling gold plays peek-a-boo behind the soft pink. Use your imagination & get creative! RECIPE: 2 cups baking soda, 1 cup Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, 1 cup citric acid. + 20 milliliters fragrance oil, 10 milliliters polysorbate 80. {you can add up to 30 ml. total of fragrance}. Mix ingredients together. Divide for multiple colors & add colorant. Right before molding, add a bit of liquid bubble bath so it doesn't dry fragile (add when mix is wet or dry). Mixture should be damp like wet sand when molded.** If mix is overly-wet, wait until it dries a bit; if mix is dry, add a little bit of liquid bubble bath at a time until it is at the perfect consistency. ** Make sure that the mix is completely deflated (& no longer puffed up) before molding. ** Solimo bubble bath (linked) will make mix puff up, but oddly, Mr. Bubbles (pink bottle) doesn't have this effect. MOLDING: Place mix in & smooth out top. Repeat steps for desired number of layers. Make layers however thick or thin that you want them. Dry for 24 hours, or longer (depending on thickness & wetness of mix). This brittle will last a long time... The scent may fade over months, but its bubble power will remain! PS: If your brittle turns to a powdery mush pile, or if you're not loving the colors - it's okay! Allow the brittle to dry, then break it up & sieve the pieces into a fine powder. Add liquid bubble bath & start again! *** You can take all the left-over powder or ugly pieces & EASILY recycle them into a new, prettier, stronger brittle!!!
***Try without it if you don't have it. If it crumbles to pieces, no big deal, just sieve the powder & re-wet/re-mold it. This time using bubble bath (or a different thick liquid) & see if that works! Happy bubble bath brittle-making!
