How to make canned baked beans taste like homemade | Baked beans | Easter side dish | BBQ fixings

It's almost barbeque grilling season! I know those of you that still have snow might not be thinking about it yet, but we have Spring-like weather here in Alabama (at least for today). Baked beans are an easy side dish to have with hamburgers, hot dogs, or really anything. We had them with ham and potato salad. They are so good. I really liked the flavor that the Y'all Brands seasoning added to it - the Sweet Meat is my new favorite.

This is just what I was looking for. I made a potato salad and have a ham in oven and was looking to see how to spice up a can of beans and I have a can of each beans you used. Getting my honey out. Thank you for posting, it made my day!

Everything else is good but we also add hamburger to ours and that puts it up to the next level. Y'all should try it. Cook your hamburger add in your onion, green bell pepper and add your beans, brown sugar, 1 tbs of mustard, 2 tbs of maple syrup. ENJOYED!!!

For my beans I use 1 big can of country style beans and 1 big can of maple beans and then I fry some bacon then I soften a sweet onion in some bacon grease. I crumble the bacon and add that to the beans with the softened onions and a little of the bacon grease. I then add some brown sugar, ketchup, mustard and some mcCormick brown sugar bourbon seasoning. I always get asked to bring these to BBQs. I’ll have to try that seasoning.

I sauté about a cup of frozen chopped onions in a large Dutch oven or big stew pot. Just as they're thawed, I add a pound of hamburger, brown it and break it up well, then drain the grease. I add a can of Bush's baked beans, a few frozen peas and carrots, a package of real (not artificial)bacon bits (like for salads), a small can of mushrooms (drained), and ketchup and mustard to taste and mix well. Then I simmer everything for about 30 to 45 minutes. Alternatively, I'll brown the hamburger the night before and then dump everything into my slow cooker in the morning, mix well, set it on low, and come home to a wonderful aroma and a delicious supper. I have plenty of leftovers to eat a couple more times in the following week. If I'm going to have company, I'll just add another can of baked beans, and I'll serve it with canned refrigerator biscuits (like Pillsbury).
