How to Make Catfish Bait

This is a simple video on how to make home made catfish bait. You can make catfish bait with all types of household items. This is my favorite homemade fishing bait for catfish. It is also can be used as homemade fishing bait for carp. As well it is also homemade fishing bait for bream. This is one of my favorite homemade fishing bait recipes.
I use a simple ziploc bag for my catfish bait bags after I am done making it. It does well as a catfish bait holder. This is a good catfish bait for winter if it is hard finding bait in your local area.
You can make this at home so there is no need to look for catfish bait for sale.

Add some wheaties to the mix and use jello flavors for the scent. I can cast over forty yeards with the right mix on a treble hook.

lil talent I would add scent like liquid Mayhem. My favorite baits are live gizzard shad, cut shad, and skipjack.

I make bait using pancake mix garlic powder and syrup. One it's a nice consistency I roll it into little balls and boil it.

well done. i was thinking about making a dough ball with puree shrimp or other type of meats. have u ever tried that? u gained a sub from us by the way.

It has crossed my mind. I like to use dough and punch bait for eaters ... but if I am going after trophy sized fish I prefer to use like/or cut Blue Gills, Shad, or SkipJack. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

If you are going to experiment with something make sure it will actually work. If you put a "how to" bait out there somebody will like your video then sub go out and try it and if it doesn't work ... you will lose KZfaq credit and they could bash your video and de-sub. If you are going to try 2 or more different types of meats try and find out how you can 1 combine them, 2 get it to stay on the hook, 3 will it catch fish?

It should stay in the hook. Just like bread after about 20-30 minutes I’d check it

Cade Faith you can make some pre dough balls and boil them for 2-3 minutes. This will help toughen them up. Thanks for watching and tight lines

remove the veg. oil or do not put any type of oil cause they prevent the dough from sticking to any surface not just to the hook. i suggest keep it simple like flour, sugar, salt, garlic powder and water are the best combination with high recomendation and positive remarks ive research so far.

That wouldnt stay on a hook for a millisecond. If you make a dough bait, wrap the doughball in reynolds wrap and boil in water for fifteen minutes.

@@hunterhuntsbowhunting7850 long story short catfish that are 30 plus pounds are about as old as you are, about 14-16 years old. Back in the 90s they commercially fished the rivers and depleted all the monster size catfish to put into Paylakes. These Paylakes cannot support fish that size and they typically die in a few weeks or months. Just youtube exposing Paylakes for more information.

EveryOne Plz read red die and glitter most definitely won't work due to catfish having extremely bad eyesight.... so u can add glitter if u want or red dye to make it look cool but it's totally optional (not required)
