Thank you so much. I plan to make this in a non-iron fabric because I can't imagine dealing with it myself but know I will love swooshing around in it. In fact I already know the sound of this skirt because my mother wore it as part of a satin cocktail dress in the 1950s in Sydney. Her dress was a very similar pinkish mushroomy tone to the skirt you have made. My mother would have been in her early 30s and I was a very small girl (I am now 75 and live in Darwin, in the tropical Top End of Australia's Northern Territory), sitting on her bed to watch as she prepared for an evening out with my father and their friends. She was a very pretty woman whose dark brown hair turned a beautiful silver in her mid-20s and on that particularly evening, hair freshly done, powdered, rouged, and lipsticked, wafting her scent as she swirled before her mirror in that dress for the first time, I thought she was utterly beautiful.

I am too the daughter of a very beautiful mother and grew up in awe of her (still am to this day). I never inherited the old Hollywood beauty gene, but her love for fashion and pretty things was passed down for sure and brought me here 🙂 your memory sounds lovely.

Thank you very much for the video .i ve been trying to make one skirt like the dior but i couldn t .only i think it s not a circle skirt because it s fitted from the hips.

The process is great to understand, but to do it without pressing those seams during construction is insane. Full or half size, it's impossible to see the end result when it's a mess.

Thanks for the super video but i would like to ask some question. What is the width of the seam allowance when you are sewing? And the other important question, that i see you cut a shorter slash into the fabric than the godet but how many centimeter/inch shorter is the slash than the godet length? Or what is the right method? I miss the helpimg voice or writing to the details 🙂 thank you so much 🤗🙂

I think that was a fail . The right idea but a fail in construction it is 3 tiers 1st circle basic 2nd circle 8 panel 16 godets 3rd circle 32 panels 64 godets. Well thats what i would do
