Coconut shell is the strongest part covered in coconut fruit. They are often used to make crafts or active carbon materials. I have made some bowls from coconut shells. They looks quite interesting and eco-friendly.
To know how I made these cute bowls, check this video!
Tools and Materials:
◾ Coconut Shell
◾ Wood Chisel
◾ 80, 240, 400 Grit Sandpaper
◾ Coconut Opener Tool
◾ Belt Sander
◾ Vise Jaws
◾ Dremel Variable Speed Rotary Tool
◾ High-Speed Steel Mini Saw Blade
◾ Hand Coconut Grater
◾ Food Grade Mineral Oil
◾ Clean Cloth

They are beautiful. Coconut is also amazingly rot resistant. I "lost" a half shell in some trench digging spoil which remained there for about 15 years, deep inside damp clay soil. When I eventually dug away that pile I found the coconut shell still in perfect condition. There was also some wood in taht pile which had disintegrated to mush.

You can brake the coconut for two halves in this way. take a coconut. You can see three boarders horizontal. One is bigger than others. Take a large knife and hit toughly to the middle of the bigger boarder from the sharp side of the knife. Make sure the coconut has to be placed horizontal. If it don't brake from on hit try again.

I'm interested.. How long do bowls last? And how can I keep my coconut bowl in tip top condition?

They should last a while, to keep it in the best condition clean it by hand, not by dishwasher, and use food grade mineral oil, like the kind he used in the video, you can get it at the home depot, where the paint is

Linseed Oil works too. Can be used on regular wood as well to make it weather resistant and seal the surface. Because it becomes a polymer.

@LagiNaLangAko23 So you're saying that all they know how to do is to respond with mindless violence for trivialities? You're really not coming across as cool and tough as you thought, huh? Might want to rethink what message you're sending there. Maybe they'd slap YOU for suggesting they're nothing but mindless thugs.
