I have to compliment your scientific measuring technique, using various iterations of Back to the Future! :)

Do you have a Plex server? I have a huge movie collection as well and have moved then onto a server for streaming
@JamesMayer1252 жыл бұрын
Nah not yet. Been looking into it though. Got most of them ripped and on a hard drive but server is definitely the way to go

@@JamesMayer125 if you're looking for a good starting point you can use a spare PC and install truenas into it, it's a free and helps with installing Plex as it has a built in plugin for it, I'd recommend that 100%, I even use it for music streaming, I have about 90Gbs of music alone and it's the main reason I use android is because a normal iphone can't hold all my other data + music, but now that I have Plex anyone can stream my music or moves, even multiple people at once. Use MakeMkv to for DVDs and blueray as it gets you the best quality out of your rips and maintains the subtitles and alternate languages which is good for myself because I watch everything with subtitles. Something to look into definitely, if you have any questions lmk

Cheers! Yeah been using make mkv then compressing them with handbrake
@TempoViolence2 жыл бұрын
@@JamesMayer125 I just use the raw mkv files haha I have a 20Tb server so I have enough space, I mostly have DVDs anyway not many blueray so I save more space

How much did this cost?
@JamesMayer1252 жыл бұрын
Just under $200 AUD for the shelf. But the movie collection… too much 🤣
