It is generally easier to create synthetic dreads because they don't have the same consistency as natural hair dreads. When using synthetic hair, a person can create larger knots with less effort than if using natural hair.
You will need a good flat iron hair: check price here amzn.to/3uaQxLf
Synthetic hair extension dreadlocks take a lot of time and skill to execute. That is why it is not for everyone. If you are up for the challenge, these are the technics you should follow:
1) Choose the right kind of synthetic dreads hair extension and make sure that they are long enough to be braided
2) Prepare your natural hair by washing and combing them. You can also put a little oil on your scalp to nourish it
3) Make a part in your natural hair
4) Grab the synthetic dread from the middle of your part line, braid it together with your natural hair and tie it off with an elastic band
5) Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you reach the end of your head or desired style length

Best to wrap in damp towel and then heat. If you notice you have a lot of melted damaged ends now and that also makes the dreads rough.

Yeah that’s gonna unwind in like 2 hours she didn’t put any type of gel or wax & never used a clip

You guys clearly don't understand how making synthetic dreads work. Keep back combing it so the hairs are all locked up then she dampened it and very tightly Twisted it then slowly went down the lock with the hair straightener to heat it together. Strongly Beyond doubt this is going to unwind on top of the fact you're not supposed to put wax or gel in synthetic dreadlocks
@jessrousseau2190
@jessrousseau2190 Жыл бұрын
Nope the heat will keep the fake hair together. The more you back comb pull down & back comb & pull down and back comb and so on 👏🏼 moving forward do that plus heat & you have a lock that will LAST a long time 👌 enjoy 😊

@@jessrousseau2190 I make my synthetic dreads a similar way I make my permanent real hair dreadlock extensions. How I make my synthetic dreads depends on the look I want but I usually do single-ended synthetic threads, I'll wrap however much hair I want to use around a thin wooden dowel to make like a loop and I twist it and crochet a knot just under the loop then I very lightly backcomb the entire dread then stretch it back out a bit and then that's when I twist very tightly and do the hair straightening method, works amazingly for conserving extra amounts of synthetic hair or if you want much smaller dreads. But really it depends all on how much hair you use, I personally don't like these huge backcoming methods with these massive chunks of hair these people in these tutorials used because it's extremely unnecessary, I can easily make nearly a full head of synthetic dreadlocks with one pack while most people i hear have to use 6-8 packs of synthetic hair. It's all in the method you use

The hair I'm using doesn't stay like that, it just unravels. I've tried the crochet method and I just can't do that It just ends up looking like a rat's nest. Is there something wrong with the hair im using?

300 should be the highest temperature. But u have to have a wet rag over the hair or it will melt the hair, there's no way this hair stayed like this, coming from a dread creator myself

@thatsmomsense9087 Жыл бұрын
Currently making a set also, I don't go above 300 and like Stephanie said, a damp cloth should be used. You want mainly steam to seal the hair. Not so much water on the hair.

no, for wavy hair im gonna guess you’re white. so you’re gonna need to do the “twist and tip method” that’s what would work for your hair type. look it up

True. Definitely not real locs…I like to call them hippie twists. They last forever though and can be reused over and over again. And if they start to look fluffy, it’s super easy to re-twist and seal them again.
