Use Witch Hazel, it contains 14% alcohol with the cornstarch. I also use loose mineral powder in a light shade (blonde hair) use darker mineral powder to match your hair color.

... Just try using your favorite powder in your hair (without talc although I'm sure once or twice won't hurt). I've even used medicated powder in a pinch. I would suggest putting the powder in your hands and rubbing on oily spots so no "white" from powder shows. This really works and is a quick fix!!!

Talc is in face powders and we breathe it in and it can cause lung cancer. Basketball players used to use talc on their hands and breathed it in and some got lung cancer and we literally brush it over our noses and faces. It's in tons of setting powders and even mineral makeup powders. I try to look for it now.

There's so much misinformation about talc. People just need to research for themselves and decide how they feel about it. I personally have no problem with cosmetic-grade talc. The same goes for parabens in makeup.
@KimbieGarcia
@KimbieGarcia 8 жыл бұрын
Yes ! definitely alot of misinformation. The woman who died and developed ovarian cancer is because the talcum powder traveled from her vagina to her fallopian tubes.. cosmetic grade talc used properly will be fine for everyday use. Johnson and Johnson lost their case though because they did not warn consumers about the ovarian cancer risked when used near the vaginal area and they already knew about the health risks.
@luisalexandre1898
@luisalexandre1898 7 жыл бұрын
Kim G The whole problem with talcum (talc) is that it is a mineral that can be found mixed with asbestos and when the rocks are mined they have to carefully identify the asbestos , discard and treat the good part, if this process is not carefully done you could be potentially consuming/breathing in powder with bits of asbestos in it! The particles are so micro and light that it spreads in the air easily while handling the powder you can breath it. That is the whole issue that is causing people to freak out. If use on groin or genital areas it could affect uterus/ovaries, but if used in face it can potentially cause lung cancer/respiratory diseases and/or ocular issues. ... now in the other hand, corn starch is an organic option but it can feed yeast. So, that being said, better invest on non talc baby powder and/or non talc cosmetics.

An easy edible lip scrub that I would suggest is sugar and oil. I usually use equal amounts of brown and white sugar, and then I mix in olive oil until it's a quick sand consistency. I've also used coconut oil but what's nice is you can adapt this to what you like

Talc can also cause respiratory issues, so it's not good to breathe the particles. Also, only food-grade talc is tested for asbestos -- cosmetic grade talc is not.
