Towards the end of 2021 I decided to stop transposing. Playing in All 12 Keys may seem hard at the beginning but when you put your heart and mind to it, it becomes so normal, so good, so easy, so doable. Try it out brother, You can drastically perfect your craft! God bless.

Hello Paul, sorry for your predicament. I also faced the same problem while growing up musically. But what I did, I used to go to church three times a week. I had to become a friend to guys in charge of instruments and he latter came to trust me with store keys. So I could come two hours earlier before him, do my practice and by the time he arrived, I was good. I also became our pastor’s loyalist through my good job to the sound guy and he let me play during non-Sunday services and sometimes I could borrow the instrument for my practice at home. Lastly, I did the unthinkable, I used to sleep in church sometimes so that I can get access to the instrument: because our church pianist never liked any other person “who-knows-how-to-play” be noticed in the church and he could chase me away from the piano all the time. I hope my long story be of nobility to thee my friend.
