How to make Fake Welds for your Ghostbusters Props or other Movie Props that look real!

A quick tutorial showing how I make faux Welds on my props that look close to the real deal. Hope it helps and you enjoy!

Love the explanation 🤙it does take a small understanding of welding to know how the beads are formed and the pattern it creates 👌 nice to know a better product is in the market for this technique 🤘

Thanks Brad. I know there are a few techniques out there that suffice but I thought this would be a good addition if someone wants to get a little more hardcore with their welds.

I'm actually working on a Rocketeer helmet right now but I have my Proton pack ready to start finish work. Glad I found this video, as someone who welded for 10 plus years it was frustrating trying to replicate them lol I tried hot glue, CA glue gel and kicker, even 3d pen. But nothing really got the look right. You really nailed it!

Thanks man I appreciate that and glad to be able to help. There is another tutorial on Gbfans by a member named Legend642 for fake welds using UV cured resin that looks pretty amazing and you get amazing results also. Both these techniques require a little patience but worth the work. Take care and thanks for commenting!

Thank you Swagger appreciate it. It's actually a 3D printed trap and the model was done by Guillame Marroni really good model. A little side project I'm doing.

Yeah but hot glue looks terrible a little extra work gives you real looking welds.

@@8BitLife69 I've been doing Ghostbusters cosplay for over 15 years on Gbfans and I've never seen a decent hot glue weld one time.

@@8BitLife69 it might look good to you and the type of pack your doing but if your making a high level proton pack, thrower or trap that's cosmetically accurate to the movie hot glue welds don't even come close.
