@AmyRomeu

Hi, Sommer! I'm happy to help. :) First, be sure your pliers are jewelry making pliers, with smooth, flat jaws (not teeth). Also you want to hold the earring hook firmly between your thumb and forefinger, covering as much of the hook as you can, before you start to twist the loop with pliers. If you are using the right pliers and holding the hook firmly before you twist - it may your earring hooks. I would suggest different earring hooks. The ones I link to in the video are from Amazon and they twist without any breakage. Let me know if this helps!

@@AmyRomeu hii sorry for the late response i was abroad and just came back to my home. So is there any way where i can send you a video? Because in the photo it's not showing what the actual problem is. When i wear those earrings it bends on the side but when i hold it it's perfectly straight

I thought the earring was supposed to hang flush to the face especially hoop earrings. New info for me.

This is a commonly asked question among earring makers so I made a video on it, but of course it's personal preference. Thanks for your comment!

Hello Amy, for earrings such as alloy charms, such as kitty cats with black enamel facing for example, they hang backwards to where the back of the earring the part that is all gold color faces the front and not the black Kitty cat part. I don't understand why there are no tutorials for earrings like that. That is what I work with. There is one tutorial where a lady suggests actually opening up opening on the ear wire itself!!! Horrible, bad idea!! They are not meant to be opened that's why we have jump rings!! Once you open up the little hook on the ear wire itself, number one they will now be out of balance and the little ball will no longer sit and rest on it, you cannot close them back to the way they originally were. Why in the world would somebody suggest something so stupid like that? I ruined about 20 hooks attempting to do this. The second suggestion was using two jump rings. That was a little to no help. I've also tried twisting my hook as well, however, I'm not sure if I have done it the way you are suggesting here. I will give it a try. I'm at my Wit's end and I don't know what to do to get the facing part to hang straight.

Hi, Tina! The trick is to to be sure you are gripping the hook between your thumb and forefinger firmly and covering as much of the hook as you can with your fingers before you start to twist. This helps keep the entire hook stable and sturdy. If that doesn't work, I would suggest trying different hooks. Let me know if that helps!
