This is a follow up video to a previous video where I showed Cricut crafters how to these trendy faux leather claw hair clips using faux leather. In this new video, I'll show you how to make a similar project using flower shaped claw hair clips.
I'll also answer questions like: What's the best glue to use to make flower shaped faux leather claw hair clips? How do you get the faux leather flower petal SVG for the flower claw hair clips? How do you get the faux leather to stay glued down in the curved petal of the hair clip?
These faux leather claw hair clips are so easy to make with a Cricut Maker, Maker 3, Explore Air 2 or Explore 3, even the Cricut Joy or Cricut Joy Xtra.

Amy, have you thought about doing this with the butterfly clips? I think a foil or glitter would look great on those.

Hi, Patricia! I have thought about it, but the metal parts of the spring are visible on the back of the clip. Also there seems to be some variations in the clip sizes. I'll have to try it out!

Hi, Denise! I would leave the clothespins on for at least 30 minutes, an hour would be plenty of time!

Great job is so cute. Question how many faux leather sheets 8x11 do you need per clip?(10 petals) Thanks 🍂🍁🌾

Hi, good question! You can fit several sets of petals on one sheet. To get an approximate idea, I uploaded the petals to Design Space and after I clicked the Make It button, I changed the number of project copies and the Materials Size mat to 8.5x11. I did this to see how many sets of 10 I could fit on that sized mat, and I was able to fit 6 sets of 10 petals with some room to spread them apart from each other just slightly. Hope that helps!

Has anyone had an issue with the faux leather peeling up? I used the Fabri tac. I was just wondering how durable they will be.

Hi, Denise! I did a test on one I made with Fabri-Tac and I had to really pull hard to get the faux leather to come up. Of course ones made with the StickFast glue will hold even better.

Please be sure you are downloading it from my shop link here: shop.amyromeu.com/products/faux-leather-flower-claw-hair-clip-svgs You'll need to add it to your cart and check out (it's free), then download it from the email that comes after you place your order. The zipped folder you get from my shop has 4 file types inside, SVG, PNG, DXF and EPS. (You need to unzip the download folder before you can access the files inside.) So if your download folder only has the SVG, then that's not the download from my shop. The file in my free SVG library only has the SVG. :) Let me know if that helps! Hi, sure you can! Just follow the cotton ball and clothespin trick I show in the video (or some other way) to hold the glued faux leather petals in place for at least 30 minutes, an hour is best. :)
