FYI- any kind of dust can be harmful to your health. Even “food grade”. Bakers frequently suffer from a condition called “white lung” or “baker’s asthma” caused by flour dust. If you’re avoiding breathing that dust in you’re probably fine, it’s not like it’s asbestos or anything… but still you gotta be careful.

Thank you for the information and for watching. I am definitely careful and the use of the product is very infrequent versus a daily job. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the instructional. I’ll probably be making some this winter. I’ve been cleaning and pressing comics almost everyday since Mike gave me that press. 😍

Interesting seeing the different consistencies in the process. After you made the comment on the latino food, I had to see what purposes it is used for. On a side note Jerry if your feeling constipated you can take some for relief 😉🤣

Thanks Jerry for another great tutorial. It’s a great product and inexpensive. The wheat paste is messier to use so MC is a great alternative.

Thanks for the recipe. I'm going to use it on future cover soaks. How long will the initial batch store? Is there an optimal way to store unused portions?

Thanks for sharing the recipe Jerry, the correct chemicals are so important in conservation, this helped a lot. Once mixed and you obtain the consistency as shown in the video, do you leave the jar at ambient temperature or do you refrigerate? Staying tuned.

I do not refrigerate. My last batch lasted for about 9 months without issue in a sealed glass jar. Good luck my friend.

@@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098 Thank you very much for this information Jerry. The fact that you can keep it at room temperature is extremely helpful, as I had hoped for. This kind of shelf life is very efficacious.

Is methyl cellulose strong enough to reattach a trade paperback jacket to its binding?
@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098
@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098 7 ай бұрын
Great question. I believe it is as long as secured properly during the drying process. The goal is methyl cellulose is that it is reversible with water. If you do not care about the repairs being undone then glue may be a better option. Thank you for stopping by and supporting the channel.

Will this glue be detected with UV light? Asking cause comic books using this glue could lead to getting “restored” label
