I did it as a barbarian because the berserk armor never really feels like it protects him just keeps his limbs from falling off also entering frenzy covered in blood is so Guts

@@TheBane616it’s not meant to protect, it’s meant to make you fight at 110% at all times. It’ll keep you alive and makes you go… berserk.

Dragons dogma 1 has a "GUTS" preset build. His face, scars and build are all in it. And you can buy his swords and armors in a merchant called "alon" in that one quarry. You have to clear the quarry first. Killing all the bandits, goblins and ogres and he will set up his shop there. It was fun roleplaying as guts and theres also griffith armor and swords too! But no preset 😂 And theres a character in the game that was highly inspired by casca "ser mercedes" her name

Sadly in the darkness arisen edition for PS4 and Xbox one the armor and weapon were cut from the game because of licensing issues. Tho the character apprearance preset is still available funnily enough.

if you are going to be a martial cHaracter I don';t think you can afford to mess around splitting your levels between two different martial classes before reaching your extra attack at Level 5 of your class. You should be taking 5 straight levels in a single martial class before multiclassing

In the third act, in the steel watcher foundry, you can find steel watcher sword. It has 100 weight and the model seems huge (I didn't equip it, just picked up and sent to camp). If you pick up the gloves (I think it's gloves, and the amulet sets constitution to 23) that set your strength to 23 in House of Hope, your max carry weight would be 320-330~ish, so you'd have enough carrying capacity for the sword and all other miscellaneous equipment.

Just a solid build, but I would stay Fighter at Level 5 before adding barb levels, until you get to level 8, then reclass to Lvl 4 Fighter Lvl 4 Barb. That way, you get Extra Attack for those few levels before the reclass

Ironically this has been my BG3 build for the entire run on my honor mode and it’s so good. Durge with this build has made honor mode fun and fairly rewarding for role playing as well

Absolutely isn't. If you see Guts fight pre Berserker armor. He's a battlemaster through and through.

@nikcantsnipe Guts is a battlemaster simple as. Guy wasn’t just strength and rage, Guts is a master swordsman in every way, able to keep up with opponents that were faster than him with pure skill. (During the black swordsman arc where he fights a legendary guard imbued with demonic energy he was fighting at speeds that nobody in the room could keep up with other than Guts)

Delaying extra attack until level 8 is really shooting yourself in the foot. Stick with one class until 6, then reroll to 1 fighter/5 Barb, take the rest of your fighter levels, then finish Barb.

This build is almost exactly what I did for karlach, Giant slayer sword and all. I just started with 5 levels of Barbarian to get extra attack as soon as possible (I can’t stress enough how crucial that is to martials), then 3 levels for battlemaster fighter, then barbarian for the rest. Don’t delay extra attack if you can help it, it’s the quickest way to double potential damage, it makes you able to throw more bombs and potions as well, which has saved many encounters for me.

I'd be inclined to squeeze in a few levels of oathbreaker or vengeance paladin since Guts is on a bit of a crusade and Dragonslayer does harm astral beings> ill take that as smite

Id suggest starting swapping to barbarian 5 at level 5. This will let you get your feat sooner, and barbarian is really really strong on its own. But most importantly this will get your extra attack at level 5, instead of 8. When you reach 8 feel free to respec to start as fighter if you like the starting bonuses of fighter more then barbarian.

This build kinda sucks till level 8. Sure if you are doing a respec it works completely fine, but not having an extra attack till level 8 is really bad (sure you have your frenzied rage bonus action attack, but in any prolonged battle, you are just going to end up missing everything if you keep relying on it) For anyone that wants a guts build, do the same things here but start off as barbarian, get to level 5, get 3-4 levels in fighter and then put the rest in barb
