Learn how to create cold process soap using the Infinity Swirl technique. This swirling method turns your typical layered soap on its side. Anne-Marie uses the Multi-Pour Sectioning Tool from Bramble Berry to create separate layers of color, but you can just as easily create the dividers from cardboard.

I have a question I haven't practice working with cold process yet can I create the same effect with melt and pour?
@bramble-berry
@bramble-berry 8 жыл бұрын
Creating the same design with melt and pour may be a bit tricky. As melt and pour cools, it thickens quickly. That makes it difficult to swirl the soap. You can do beautiful layered designs with melt and pour though! Learn how to work with melt and pour layers here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a9Wpm5Rzy5mrqKM.html

At a 100% usage rate fragrances can cause skin irritation and redness. That is why we recommend using our fragrance calculator to get the tested IFRA usage rates which are perfectly safe on the skin. www.brambleberry.com/calculator?calcType=fragrance

@bramble-berry
@bramble-berry 8 жыл бұрын
+raphiree That is correct! The oils in this recipe are measured into a bowl and then melted together. You want them to be about 120F, and have the lye water around the same temperature. If you have any other questions let me know! =)

Laura Richardson Hi Laura! Great news! We’re affiliated with vendors of the RSPO and support sustainable palm oil! The membership of RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) means that you are dedicated to promoting the sustainability of palm oil, as well as a healthy environment and fair pay for the workers. Being certified by the RSPO means that they have agreed that, based on their criteria, you produce, process and harvest your palm oil in a sustainable manner. That also means rare, threatened, or endangered local species in the area are identified, and plans to minimize the plantation or mill’s impact are factored into management plan. If you are still leery of using palm oil as an ingredient in your soap, here are some palm free recipes that we created just for you! If lye is so dangerous to skin you need gloves why make soap with it wouldn't it still be dangerous???
@bramble-berry
@bramble-berry 9 жыл бұрын
Beylan Wimsatt Hi there! That's a great question! Soap is the result of a chemical reaction between some kind of oil and lye. The reaction is called saponification. So, lye is necessary to make the soap. However, after it's added, it chemically reacts with the oils and creates a new product - soap! That means after about 48 hours, most of the lye has been used up during the saponification process. The end result is handmade soap that feels great on your skin. =) Learn more in the Where's the Lye post: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/cold-process-soap/wheres-the-lye-2/
