Kokedamas are a stunning Japanese planting style, often referred to as a poor man's bonsai.
Kokedama translates to "moss ball" and is a planting technique in which you cover the roots of a plant with a mud ball and then cover the mud ball with a layer of soft moss.

Follow the Video Tutorial for all the steps! Here's a quick summary.
Make a mud ball with 70% Bonsai Soil and 30% Peat Moss. Get the soils very wet and mix them together and form a ball slightly larger than a softball. Squeeze out any excess water. You should be able to toss the soil ball into the air without it breaking apart.
Next, split the soil ball in half. Take your plant, remove any soil from its roots. Place the roots inside the soil ball and put the ball back together. Squeeze, form, and create a ball of soil - now with your plant inside.
Prep your sheet moss by moistening it evenly. Wrap your sheet moss around the outside of the soil ball and plant.
Hold the moss in place around the soil with the twine. Wrap, wrap and wrap the twin around the moss and tie it together. You will need to cross the kokedama at many angles and cut many pieces of twine.
And viola! You have a finished kokedama. Now hang it! Or set it on a table to style up your space.
