Korean BBQ is my favorite way to eat and it's easy to make at home. Everyone crowded around a table sharing small delicious pickled, salty, sweet banchan while sipping on crispy brews and ripping shots of Soju as the meat continues to sizzle over the fire set in the middle of the table. It’s the best. Always. The good news - you can do it all yourself.
Korean BBQ, or KBBQ is super doable at home. If you’re new here or haven’t been able to tell already, I LOVE Korean food. I am by no means an expert on Korean food or cooking, but I’ve been eating all types of Korean food regularly since I was a little kid and surely know my way around the Korean markets near my house. I hope this video inspires you to cook! 🤘🏻Adam

한국고기요리에 대해 잘 알고 설명도 참 잘하셨어요. 맛있게 드시니 흐믓합니다. 저도 좋아하는 음식입니다. 쌈은 자르지않고 한입에 다 넣어 드시는 겁니다.

10:56 Oh. Bro. Your video was perfect, but there's only one thing I missed. When taking Ssam, you should eat it at once as much as possible. That's why you need to make it the right size. When all the food goes into your mouth, the food mixes harmoniously in your mouth, without spilling and dirtying your hands. It would be perfect if you just remember that. : )

THANK-YOU for an outstanding video that explains KBBQ thoroughly!! I've wanted to do this for ages but wasn't sure about the meat cuts and marinades. You provided all the info that I need to know. I've bought the stove and grill, tools and am going to the store to buy the meat and the sauces. Thank-you so much. I'm a 74 yrs old American, living in Ft.Lauderdale, Florida, USA. PS/ I'm sooooo glad you mentioned MAANCHI!! I found her on KZfaq and my interest in KBBQ was ignited! She's a delight! MAANCHI's the reason I ordered all of the KBBQ supplies on Amazon (do you have an affiliate link? I haven't checked yet), and her newest book, (I had to decide which 1, on my limited budget), and it's all being delivered tomorrow, Nov. 08, 2021!! I'm so excited!!

I wonder if you could do a vid that lists the basic ingredients that people need to always have at home for Korean cooking in order of importance. I would like to stock a few items so that I would always be able to do a spur of the moment Korean dish using whatever happens to be in the fridge (right now I have some celery, an English cucumber, carrots, kohlrabi, white cabbage, yellow onions, some iceberg lettuce and some butterhead lettuce.) I was thinking it might look like this: 1. Soy sauce 2. Sesame oil 3. Garlic 4. Green onion 5. Red pepper powder After that I'm really at a loss to know what is most important to have on hand. I know that fish sauce, oyster sauce, perhaps other sauces are used sometimes. Vinegars - what kind and how necessary? Maybe some other things that I'm not thinking about. Thanks for the consideration.

Hi Robert. Thanks for the rec and feedback. Perhaps one day down the road that will be a thing. In the mean time, I'll do my best to explain the ingredients that I choose to use when I use them.

Rather than regular salt in the dipping sauce maybe use toasted salt.

Your video is so amazing. But few detail is missing. Soy sauce instead of vinegar for the marinade of LA kalbi. And Ssam is supposed to be eaten at one bite- all in one.

I will give you the beer aspect (except for Cass, that's just the Korean equivalent of shitty Budweiser) but Soju is not a important part, like at all. Its popularity boom had more to do with the fact that is was just CHEAP booze, Plus all the massive marketing campaigns for it. For the most part its pretty sketchy, just a mix of whatever cheap source of starches they could find to convert to fermentable sugars. The best way to describe Soju is toilet vodka. To say it has no burn is also debatable. As its not standardized, so it can be as high as 60%.

Every korean in the world may argue with you that soju is not part of any meal. It’s quite literally part of EVERY meal😂

Oh, no. everything perfect. But, the core of Kbbq wrapping is purposed to feel the harmony of vegi and meat simultaneously. So, please eat it at one bite. it makes you high up more than cut the wrapping half with your teeth. Good luck!
