Momma Cherri

This was one of the most popular dishes at the Momma Cherri's Soul Food Shack. Gordon Ramsay loved this dish, and though he tried to improve the recipe when he was with me, he realised that he couldn't. It's as American as apple pie, and the ultimate comfort dish.

Momma Cherri, You speak with a very charming accent that strikes me as a fusion between an American accent and a UK accent. It's the best of both sides of the pond ;) Cheers ! Stuart Stensager in Seattle, WA, USA

Miss Ashlee Really? Do you know that if you go to another state/country you will pick up the accent that is around you probably within months or a year? It is just natural for that to happen. Even if you tried hard to stop it, it is inevitable.

Miss Ashlee i even start thinking in an English accent if I watch too many BBC shows in a row, it's only natural. I have a friend from Korea and she used to have a really thick accent, now it's not quite as noticeable. That just happens.

Miss Cherri, I am saddened that the video stopped before you made the gravy. Now, while I was raised right -- I knew how to make gravy and drive a tractor by the time I was 8 -- there are a surprisingly many people out there who have never made gravy from scratch. And, Sadly, there are even people who buy gravy in a can. *clutches heart*

worcestershire sauce worce-ster-shire sauce wuss-tur-sheer sauce some people have trouble with it so they don't say the "sheer" bit and it turns in to wuss-tur sauce like your daughter said (it's stupid i know, but it's considered correct both with and without the "shire" part nowadays) so both Momma Cherri and Baby Cherri (I'm using that name now) were sort of right in their pronunciation

Apparently it's pronounced wuss-t'-sher. Hmm, she says Wuss-ter, which I saw someone else mention, too. Honestly, I like 'Wuss-ter' more than any other variant, since it's easier to say. Please pass the rooster sauce (Sriracha) and Wuss-ter suace.

My mom lived in Alabama and Mississippi for a while, and she fell in love with southern cooking while she was there. I still remember eating collard greens, cornbread, chicken fried steak, black eyed peas and other great food as a kid. Now as an American who's been living all over the world for the past six years, this makes me really nostalgic for the food back home. Sadly everywhere I go people make fun of American food, but if they saw your videos they'd know the truth!

Absolutely awesome! My significant other is requesting mini-meatloaves at least once a week now. He raved with the first bite and looked crestfallen when they were gone! lol Only one minor variation to your recipe. I fried up a strip of bacon, chopped it up and threw that into my meatloaf mix before I cooked it. The bacon flavor just permeated into each little loaf (bacon makes everything better). With the prosciutto on the outside, it just turned them into finger food. I ate them cold right out of the icebox and dipped them in BBQ sauce...to die for. Thank you, Momma Cherri...you've made a fan out of me. Subscribed and liked.
