How to Make Miniature Clay CUPCAKES for Halloween

In this video, I'm making seven different Halloween cupcakes from Polymer Clay. They range in difficulty from easy to more advanced.

I show a great technique for making something tiny and detailed. I use a sketch and some liquid clay to make a tiny cat but you could adapt the technique to make other teeny clay items.
I used mold putty to make an easy mold of a bottle cap to save myself the time of sculpting a base but it's not a necessity.
I have lots of projects planned like abandoned miniatures, Dollar Store furniture makeovers, room boxes, dioramas and Dollhouse Miniature decor, furniture and accessories in multiple scales. I also have a large Harry Potter build planned for 1" scale.

I love all of the cupcakes but my favourite has to be either the cat with the moon or the brain..I do also love the ghost.. I can't decide they're all so cute!

The cat and the moon looks really cool. That was inspired by a cupcake I saw on Pinterest. The ghost was inspired by a cupcake I saw in a So Yummy video on KZfaq.

That cat was so labor intensive, but it pays off in cuteness! I'd eat the brain cupcake in an instant, but aethsteticly I prefer the shard of glass.

The cat came together quite quickly. I wonder what else I could make with the liquid clay trick. Aesthetically, I'd go for the bat. My favorite cake combo is yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

You need to get a curved nail scissor for cutting tiny things. I have to say, I love that shard of glass and blood splattered cupcake. But they are all cute. The black cat creation was very clever. And I've made clay brains many times. But never that small.

The cake I attempted was just a simple, frosted cake with a "piped" border. It looked really weird and misshapen so I rolled it in caviar beads (nail art decor). That helped but not enough 😆

@@queencityminis poop cupcakes could be a thing. Popular among the potty training ages when all conversation is about bathroom functions. My daughter flushed a little plastic toy of mine down the toilet. She didn't like it. Was it the 3 eyeballs on stalks? Or the frog-like mouth? It was cute

I spent ages trying to glue tiny bits of paper to my cupcake for the liner…..i got so frustrated i put it in my ‘try again later’ drawer. Shall have to try this! Thanks 😊

How long does it take for the tiny pieces of clay to harden with the heat gun? That's a clever idea! I used a cap to make my cupcake mold too, perfect ridges that way. 😄

Depending on the thickness of the clay, 15-60 seconds or so to cure with the heat gun. I usually don't bake polymer clay in the oven at all if it's less than 1/4" thick. Baked items are stronger since they're being cured at a lower temp for a longer period of time. But I'll use the heat gun if the item is being glued down or doesn't have much risk of being broken, like in my 1:144 scale dollhouse. Great minds think alike! Using the bottle cap for the cupcake base made my life so easy 😊
