How to make miniature plates (update) - easy diy - no more folds!

Hi!
This is a quick video to show you the evolution of my technique for making mini plates.
Here are my experiments to make the wrinkles disappear when making the miniature plates and how I was able to finally solve this problem by modifying my method.

Glad you were able to get the creases out. You could probably skip the water all together, though. Mod Podge is water based, so it will do the same thing as saturating it with water, I think. Probably just have to put it on thick so it doesn't dry out before you're finished shaping it. Just a guess, of course. Looks like it works great with adding the water, so probably the best solution. Just ignore me.. I think too much.. haha Your plates are beautiful!!! That's what I should have said.

Thanks for your advice! Mod Podge alone does not work, I tried it... but your comment just made me think of one thing: dilute Mod Podge with water! This should achieve the same result! Above all, keep thinking too much and don't stop your brain! 😘🤯😅 It was helpful! 💕💕💕

I actually did think that, then talked myself out of saying it, because I had already written so much. haha That may just work perfectly, and it will stick down better too, hopefully. I was considering using some water slide decals, like for fingernail art, but I love the pics you found in the magazines, so now there are even more ways to decorate, since I'm not so great at painting.. hehe Thank you again.

It is paper after all, you can shape it and get rid of creases, but eventually, if you are not careful, it will tear, however if you dont overdo it you can get some really effective looking plates. What caused the creases in the first place? If it happened to me, I would dampen the paper and try to remove the wrinkles before attempting to make plates. I think you would have a better chance of getting rid of creases beforehand. The plant pots turned out beautifully btw. Great idea.

THANKS! Yes indeed you are right, the technique of moistening the paper works provided you are very careful not to tear everything. The creases appear because the plate is hollow and the paper must adapt to this shape. I really appreciate the advice and comments. 🥰 💞💞💞
