I heard etsy was cracking down on POD because it's not really "handmade." That was another side hustle I wanted to try someday. Do you do sublimation?

Hey sorry I wasn't trying to ignore you I just didn't know how to answer your question. I made those photo ornaments back in December and I don't have the settings saved that I used and I can't remember what I picked. I bought the cutting boards at Ocean State Job Lot which is a brick and morter store located in the northeast USA so I don't have a link for those either. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Congrats! you did a great job. How do you know which facebook groups you can sell your products on?

Thanks! This can be tricky because a lot of groups don't allow "self promotion or link sharing". If you stick to your local tag sale/marketplace type groups then you should be fine. I usually don't have an issue if I post in a town group occasionally. I'll post a picture of a birth stat elephant and be like "I make these custom made birth announcement elephants right here in town if anyone is interested!" My husband would want to be able to draw his patterns ex. Gears for a clock. Does the design program come with the machine to do that or do we need to buy another program? Can you recommend a program. Thanks for any help you can give me.

You can import files into the WeCreat software. My husband said for gears he could use a CAD software or something like Inkscape and then import into WeCreat.

What about the cost of shipping materials and shipping? Local sales, how did you get it to the customer? If you hand deliver there would be a cost in gas. I sell on TikTok but I hate their turn around time. They don’t give you enough time to even make the project. Which isn’t craft friendly. I am considering Etsy again but I didn’t do very well there like I do on tik tok. Any suggestions? One more thing, when making the photo ornaments is there a hack to save your paper if you only have one or two pics to print, so you arnt wasting a whole sheet of paper? Thanks your channel is amazing!!

If people wanted things shipped which was pretty rare, they would just pay extra for shipping. You can calculate how much it is to ship from the USPS website. Most was local. I know you're *supposed to* meet up somewhere but I just had people come to my house. I always had them pay first. I've never tried selling on Tiktok but I would like to look more into it. I feel like Tiktok could be really successful. I see people selling a hat or shirt or political window decal and it blows up and I'm sure they're making BANK. For the ornaments, I told people I would have their order done within a week so I just waited until I had at least 6 to make before I printed. Any extra space I had, I made ornaments for my family.

How much tax did you pay out of that?

You pay taxes at the end of the year when you file your tax returns. It depends on how much your total income is.

Everyone’s taxes are different due to different situations. Home business space, how many dependents you can claim on taxes, expenses you can claim etc Unfortunately, It’s not a simple answer. 😊

Good rule of thumb for self employed is roughly 20% of gross.
