Taking some normal decal cutting techniques and applying them to multiple colored layers allows you to design some truly unique stickers. Follow this tutorial process to get an understanding on the design and cutting process to make your own. To start the process you will need a vinyl cutter like a silhouette cameo that I use. Second you will need a design that features multiple colors. Mine design was some simple letters filled in with a solid color background.
Once you have your digital design add some square or rectangle shapes off the side to act as registration marks. These will allow you to align each of the color layers without having to focus on the design itself. Inside your cutting program make two separate cuts for each of the colors. Make sure the area on the cutting mat has the right color vinyl sheet.
Once the all of the sheets have been cut weed out any extra material. Add transfer tape to the top layer of vinyl. Then peel off the back of that layer. While looking through the clear tape, align the two sets of registration marks and then stick down the two layers together. This can be repeated if there are more layers in the design.
Trim any extra area around the design and happy sticking.

Dude thank you! I’ve been messing with multi-color all the wrong way. I was setting my blade length to cut all the way through the wax paper layer under the vinyl and gluing all the pieces together before sticking my transfer paper on. Your method looks 1000x easier. Thanks again

To make the decal last longer and be more durable I recommend a clear over laminate cut similarly to the forcefield/boundary of the design.

Regular vinyl is pretty slick stuff so your best bet would be some oil based paint markers. Be warned the paint wont bond perfectly and can be scratched off

What if it’s a two color logo but the colors don’t layer on top of each other just the font is black and the crown is white, they don’t touch at all do you still use the registration marks ? It’s a 22” decal

Thanks, but I wanted to know about the clear transfer tape. I bought some from Amazon to make 2 layer stickers, but the tape is too sticky and doesn’t release the sticker and it leaves bubbles even when I squee it out.

The machine doesn’t know, you have to setup two layers manually. This is the photoshop process of splitting out the background color and the outline color
