Great tutorial. Useful idea for sure. I need to make several small ones to use for trash bins for errant threads and scrap fabric. I think you would have had a better time if you had used the dual feed on your machine and remove the extension table on your machine when sewing the lining to the outside. Be sure to trim all your starting threads when you are making the snips on your circular pieces.

Hello a month later! I just had the chance to watch this video on KZfaq. Could you quilt the outside tube before you put it together, or would it shrink the size too much to fit the lining? I may try it and see. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you for the awesome ideas and tutorials that go with them!!

Love this project! Would be easy to personalize them with kids names, appliqués, etc.. did you use regular weight quilting cotton? Could these be made with a heavier fabric like canvas, or would that be too difficult to sew through? Thanks for all the wonderful projects. Really enjoy your creativity.

I am wondering what size needle and weight of thread you are using?
@sandybruce9092
@sandybruce9092 Ай бұрын
Just a guess - since she is not sewing through the Bosal, I would use a #80/12 and probably a thread to match the fabric - the regular #50 2 or #50/3. But if you think the container might be used for more heavy items (like toys?), perhaps go with a #40wt?? I’ve never sewn with this weight thread so ……..? Or maybe just sew regularly but with a double seam???

@@rebeccaenlow7395or just purchase the download pattern - a bit cheaper although the prude has fine up $2.00 - nit sure why! A pressing cloth might come in handy for pressing the seam & stitching that seam starting at the position you were at but have the bulk of the bag behind it instead of in front. It looks awkward for you to sew.

I do understand about the camera work sometimes, but this is a really awkward project and I imagine it was really difficult to figure out how to place the camera to get the best shot. The over- the-shoulder view doesn’t work well because Misty needs her hands to manipulate this project - maybe a small camera on her machine or in her might show better. I’ve seen a very good closeup on many quilting videos using a small camera on the person sewing.
