Make sure you are SUPER carful but that's awesome! Thats how i learned how to use them. I made a pair them taught myself over the course of 8 years! hahaha!

If you follow this one rule you will never get hurt. *RULE* only do what you know how to do, at the speed you know how to do it. DON'T force yourself to go faster. Speed will naturally come with time, you won't have to force it. Start by doing every technique SUPER slow and easy until you have it down to muscle memory. ALL the nun chuck fail videos are about people trying to show off and push their abilities too far. Its a lot more impressive to see someone slowly do a figure 8 then it is to see someone do it lighting fast for 15 secs then end up hitting themselves in the groin! haha! Sorry for the rant i just don't want anyone to get hurt! :)

Ok, I'll keep that in mind. Your totally right about the showing off thing, I'm surprised how much these things can hurt even when they're so light! I am at the moment learning the martial art taekwondo and it's pretty cool.

its more of a personal performance. Chains are more durable but also heavier and a little louder. Rope will need to be replaced every year or so but they are lighter and quieter. :)

100% ROPE

Just made a set. Stainless chain, eye bolts, Seasoned Hickory wood , from my trees. You must have a drill, & saw to make these. I am an old school woodworker and made these in one afternoon. approx. 2 hours ) Hope this helps.

Me too. 😅 I chose the toughest wood I could find= Oak..I almost went with poplar which would work, but poplar dents and stretches easily. I got the jack chain eye screws and the strongest super glue I could use for metal + wood contact. I’m now thinking about paint and stencils… This video using PVC and rope is great. I think I’ll make just one more pair using this video tutorial. I’m also considering rose wood as a durable wood.
