This is really an easy to make recipe. All you need is best quality seasonal strawberries, a bit of sugar , a splash of orange juice and 15-20 minutes of cooking time. This compote is best to be topped on a slice of bread, as a cheesecake topping , or can be mixed in a strawberry cake filling.

You see, we have not used any preservatives in the recipe. Just store in an airtight dry jar for up to a week. Use only washed and dry spoon to take out the compote As for the cherries, I weighed them first and then pitted them

You can store this compote for a week in an air tight glass container Beyond that the taste will change as it is preservative free
